When asked if Phillips was the man who he saw meeting with Lee Harvey Oswald, not one to directly rat him out, anti-Castro Cuban Antonio Veciana asked, "Does he have a brother?"

Interestingly, Phillips did have a brother, a brother who reported that he refused to communicate with David after he indicated he WAS involved in President Kennedy's assassination.

Former House Select Committee on Assassinations staff member Kevin Walsh, with whom Phillips became quite friendly, claimed that during one of their frequent lunches together, in July of 1986, while Walsh was working as a private investigator in Washington D.C., Phillips casually remarked to him, "My private opinion is that JFK was done in by a conspiracy, likely including American intelligence officers." Needless to say, Phillips was in a position to know whether or not his "opinion" was correct.

Eventually to rise to the highest post in the CIA attainable without a presidential appointment, David Atlee Phillips met with Lee Harvey Oswald shortly before JFK's assassination.

There is every reason to believe that Phillips, who was, as a world class disinformation agent for the CIA, instrumental in the coupe that killed Salvador Allende, the legitimately elected leader of Chile, was also a major player in the conspiracy to kill JFK.
