The Zombie Bar Is Raised
Dawn of the Dead (1978)
is the second movie in what is known as the 'Living Dead' series by George A. Romero.
It may have took Romero 10 years for this followup but it was not in vain as this is my and many others favorite of the series.
While this movie is the 2nd in the series it does not have any carry-forward characters from the first.
Like Night of the Living Dead (1968)
that came before it, this was another zombie film made cheap (< $1,000,000) that has gone on to have have big financial success.
This film has also succeeded in turning the Monroeville Mall into a zombie landmark. I've yet to visit but it is on my to-do list I assure you :p
The film has been remade once; Dawn of the Dead (2004)
.

Plot
The dead have come back to life to eat the living. This is the story of four people's escape from an urban nightmare to a suburban one. Seeking refuge from the zombies and the ensuing hysteria, they end up at an area shopping mall, despite the fact that the undead seem to be flocking there. What begins as a stop for supplies becomes a longer stay as the four become embroiled in a futile war within the mall to remain alive.
Trailer
Classic trailer, sounds like the same voice over guy from Night of the Living Dead (1968).
If anyone knows his name let me know in the feedback, he's awesome!
