Home Child Care Center Grants | Get Government Grants To Start a Day Care Center

One of the hardest things about starting a daycare business is to find the initial capital which is required to get the necessary permits, buy toys, children books, advertise your new center, and other expenses.

You can find the required startup capital in a variety of forms:

  1. Personal funds - if you have the money yourself, you can use it to start your business

  2. Get a loan from the bank. This is an option, but you will have to pay the money back with interest

But most people don't know there's a 3rd option they can use to get some money for their business: Grants To start a daycare business.

You see, each year, the US government on the Federal and state levels, federal organizations, and other institutions, distribute grant money by the millions for a variety of worthy causes, one of which is to help people open a new business or develop an existing one.

You can get a grant for your daycare business, and the best thing about grants is that you never have to pay the money back. As long as you use the money for your business, the money is yours to keep.

This webpage will show you how to get a business grant to start or develop your day care center, how to write an application and also share a great website where you can get all the necessary information on where to find grants that you can apply to:

Why Does The Government Give Grants

It may seem odd that the government and other organizations simply give money away for people to start new businesses, but the truth is that the government is simply looking out for its own interests. More businesses mean more jobs which mean more taxes for the government to claim, less social security benefits and welfare. The government helps the economy and the politicians look better in the public eye.

Whatever the reason, you can use grants to open your child care business.

Getting daycare center grants requires you to take a few steps. Read on to see what they are.

Step #1 - Finding the suitable grants

Some grants and foundations are suitable for some kinds of businesses and not others. You need to find the right grants for your daycare. You can either do the research yourself, which can take days, or invest a little money in the following grant resource which holds all the information:

Grants for daycares fall into 2 major categories:

  1. Grants for non profit daycares. You can still make a living in these daycares by having a steady salary, but you can't be expected to turn it into a business

  2. Regular daycares. For these to get grants is harder but not impossible. One way is to make sure your daycare serves the community in a specific way

Once you find a group of grants which are suitable to you, it's time to apply to them. Read on to see how this is done.

Step #2 - Get Application Packages

Once you find the suitable grant sources for you, you request that they send you their application packages.

When they arrive, make sure to read them carefully so you can prepare your application in the right way. Once you read them, you may find that some of them don't apply to you for some reason. Don't despair, you will find others that do.

Some grants serve certain segments of the population, so you need to make sure you belong or serve them.

Make sure to read the entire packages of information as they will help you to write a better application.

Step #3 - Getting Your Application Ready

After you find a number of grants which are suitable to you, it's time to apply to them. Competition for grants is fierce and you need to write a killer application so that you can get as much money as you can.

You also need to apply to as many grants as you can at the same time so that your chances of getting at least one of them will be higher.

Getting your application ready is paramount in order to get the most money you can. Your application should include the following things:

Step #4 - Try and Try again

Getting grants is a patience and perseverance game. As I said, there's a lot of competition to find the right grants. That being said, it's probable that you will not succeed in getting each and every grant you try out for.

However, this doesn't mean that you should give up. It only means that you need to try and try again until you succeed in obtaining your daycare center grant. Always be on the lookout for new grants, from various sources, federal, state, local, and private.

Try your best and you'll succeed. I have faith. If you wish, you can use this source:

I am hoping that opening a Daycare is what God's plan is for me. I love children and have 2 of my own. I have taken care of other peoples children since the age of 12. I understand the stress it involves. I volunteered at my daughters Head Start for an entire year. I would love to get a grant big enough to make my dream become reality.

Like most people, I have experienced set backs due to the economy. I lost my full time job in February and have not had any luck in finding a replacement. I have two children and I have thought of starting a daycare for years. I live in a rural community that offers no child care. Owning my own business would allow me to continue to stay at home with my children as well as help other working parents who are in need of reliable, trustworthy child care for their children. I would appreciate any advice from any one who has started their own daycare as well as advice on how to receive grant funding.
