What Is A Loft? 


There are many different definitions of a loft. We use a broader definition since D.C. has very few old factories or warehouses. Most lofts in the area are either new constructions, converted old schools, and renovated old brownstones. Lofts should have tall ceilings and an open floor plan. Ideally it would have a combination of exposed ceilings and ductwork, concrete floors, and if two stories high, a mezzanine level overlooking the lower floor.
