De La Soul
De La Soul is a three man hip hop group from Long Island, New York, who started as a group of high school friends in the 80's. Their demo tape "Plug Tunin'" captured Prince Paul's attention, who helped them get a contract with Tommy Boy Records.
They burst onto the scene in 1989 with their debut album '3 Feet High and Rising' (produced by Prince Paul) which many at the time labeled the future of hip hop and is considered a masterpiece to this day.

A.K.A. "The Plugs"
The three members of De La Soul often refer to themselves as a "Plug". Apparently, the original concept behind the group was that Mase was PA and Posdnuos and Dove were the microphone plugs, transmitting messages from Mars.

- One of the all time greats in the hip hop game. Stakes is High was the best album they ever put out, and possibly one of the best ever made.
