Walkthrough Demo Creature List
Slasher

The first and most basic enemy you will find yourself confronted with is the Necromorph Slasher, a two to four armed Necromorph with blades on the ends of its arms, and two basic legs. The trick to defeating these Necromorphs is to shoot off their limbs one by one and not letting them get close enough to slice into your vital organs. If you have trouble avoiding them it's wise to aim for the legs first to limit their mobility. It will generally take two to three shots to destroy them, i recommend destroying the legs and then the head or an arm for the most effective approach.
Leaper

The Leaper is a necromorph of moderate danger to your well being, that tail isn't just for show. The leaper does exactly what its' name suggests, and more, it's known for crawling up on you out of your view, crawling on walls, the ceiling and even below your feet on platforms. It attempts to leap upon Isaac and stab him through the face with its' edged blade tail. It can be dangerous if you don't keep an eye on it, as it moves fast and leaps to avoid shots, it can be somewhat difficult to pin down if you're distracted and being swarmed by other necromorphs. The easiest way to take it down is to shoot off its' arms and head so it is immobilized. If you attempt to shoot off the tail it will be temporarily slowed but it can still attack you, just as well the tail may take more damage to destroy than the other limbs.
"The Pack"

Or as i like to call them, Little Toddlers that want to eat your face. These are by far one of the most terrifying necromorphs within Dead Space 2. They seem to appear at the worst times, when you're low on ammo, almost defenseless and are just about at your wits end with fear, making for some very exciting game play. They are known as the pack because they come in a group of running, screaming toddlers that head right for you to claw your eyes out. My personal preference for destroying these toddlers is to use the mining laser, as it's ammo is abundant and it can cut through more than two of them quite easily. The tactic i would advise to use is to keep your cross hairs on them while moving Isaac back, leading the little toddlers into a line to be mowed down by some well placed shots. Follow these tips and you'll have them cut down in no time, just remember to watch your back if you hear screaming.
The Exploder

This necromorph can be very inconvenient at times when you find yourself facing multiple waves of necromorphs, or even just in a dark lonely corridor. It lets out a terribly frightening screech, and limps up to you, exploding on contact if it reaches Isaac. These necromorphs are very fragile and easy to kill, they have a very large weak point, and I'm sure you guessed it. That's right, the big yellow ball of... lets call it candy, that they carry around. All you need is one well placed shot to this bag of.. "candy" and they will explode and kill any necromorphs close enough to the blast radius. Also, a useful tactic is to actually (if you're a good enough shot) sever the arm off before the bag of "candy", and use the anti gravity to grab the bag of "candy" and share it with all the other necromorphs by launching it back at them.
The Puker

The Puker is a dangerous necromorph because of the acid with in it's lungs, it uses the acid to melt through flesh and armor, (conveniently what Isaac uses to protect him) and launches it in a missle like format. The acid isn't good for Isaac's health (as you would expect) It is a slow moving necromorph but it takes a decent amount of damage so it's wise to place your shots well to take it out with the least amount of ammunition. They generally arrive within a group of necromorphs, and they will launch from a far, it's wise to take them out first because if Isaac is hit he will be afflicted by a slowing effect that will cause him to move slowly and make it very difficult for Isaac to get away from the other necromorphs. My personal suggestion is when you know there is one in the room and you're fighting other necromorphs, take out the necromorphs closest to you while constantly moving and strafing to avoid its' fire.
The Brute
The Brute is a necromorph that i feel resembles one of those steroid junkies from the Jersey shore. What used to be a boss fight in Dead Space 1, is now a regular occurrence in Dead Space 2, and a very inconvenient one at that. They do take quite a bit of ammo to take down, the trick to taking them down is to use a time slow on them and aim at their shoulder joints. The shoulder joints are the weak point and if you fire enough rounds of whatever you're using into it, the limbs will explode off of the torso. He does a charge that you'll have to run out of the way to avoid, it will do a high amount of damage if you're hit with it so it's best to be safe than sorry and just avoid it rather than taking a shot. My personal preference for this is to upgrade the javelin weapon up to it's special. Launch a bolt into its' shoulder joint and detonate it into an explosion, instantly knocking an arm off and crippling the creature, giving you time to lay another deadly blow into the other arm.
Stalker

The Stalker, when you first encounter this necromorph you might find yourself freaking out and disturbed by its' sneaky attributes, but i've learned that this is by far my favorite creature and i find it a little cute. It reminds me of a dog in many ways.. unfortunately, you have to shoot it. Whenever you find yourself in a dark room and you feel as if you're being watched, it's likely that you are, by this devilishly sly necromorph. If you look around the room and you notice something peaking out from a corner, and look again and its' gone, it's likely that you will be facing this creature. Their strategy is to hide behind objects and peak out from them, the trick to taking them out is; when they're peaking out at you, save your ammo, they'll be too quick and any shots you make at them will likely not hit them. There are two tips i can give to taking them out; One is time slow, for those without quick reflexes and accuracy, you can always time slow them when they peak their head out and normally you can kill them that way and go around the corner to take them out. Unfortunately, that can leave you vulnerable to attack from other necromorphs or other Stalkers. My personal preference is to stare them down when i notice them, taunting them over and they will come out from the corner a little and charge your position. At first it's a very startling thing, they are fast, and low to the ground, but they are very easy to take out if you have a Javelin Gun. Their major flaw is that they run in a straight line towards you, so if you wait long enough you can launch a bolt and nail them to a wall quite easily. I've taken out a numerous amount of these in a row using this tactic.
Lurker
The Lurker was one of the most disturbing things to encounter within Dead Space 1, but in Dead Space 2 i really don't fret when i come across them. In fact, i find them to be childs play (no pun intended); The Lurker is a deformed version of an infant, and it can be very horrifying when you first hear the baby crying while playing in the dark, so be careful. It will attempt to crawl on any surface, ceilings, walls, etc. much like the leaper, but instead of leaping at you it will deploy three tentacles above its' head and fire missles at you. The trick to defeating this is to use the same tactics you would the spitter, although it might be slightly more difficult to find this creature (i generally follow the missle trails), you must keep moving to avoid the missle attacks while aiming your Mining laser at the creature and keeping an eye out for other necromorphs. To destroy themtake your mining laser and when they deploy their tentacles, aim your mining laser horrizontally and cut off two of the tentacle at once, instantly killing the creature.
Guardian
The final necromorph that i will demo (i really don't want to give away all the creatures, that would spoil the game, and be sure there are lots more and many bosses to see as well) is not so much a scary necromorph, as much as a challenge within Isaac's path. These infested necromorphs have burrowed themselves into the wall and have bonded to it. Think of it like a caterpillar in mid cocoon, but instead of having colorful designs, it has flesh; blood and puss, and instead of a white cocoon, it has a cocoon made up of human flesh, and instead of releasing itself into a colorful butterfly, it deploys human heads that shoot spikes out... You know, on second thought, don't think of it like a caterpillar. To defeat this obstacle all you must do it use your mining laser and some well aimed shots on the tentacles holding it onto the wall should take it down quite easily. A very easy way to take it down is to have an explosive handy and launch it into the creature, killing it instantly. The challenge with this beast is to not get too close, if you get too close it will spit out a tentacle and whail you around a bit dealing a lot of damage and knocking you back. The heads that it deploys will then sprout a tentacle from the floor, so be sure to take out any of the tentacles that come out of the heads, once you sever that the head will be destroyed and you can then focus on taking out the tentacles holding it to the wall. Just as every other necromorph in the game, it too is effected by time slow, so if you have excess time slow, be sure to use it as your leisure to take out the necromorphs that dare cross your path!
