World War II is the deadliest war ever. From 1937 to 1945, around 40-to-72 million people died around the world. World War II is the deadliest, bloodiest conflict in human history. Casualties of war included civilians from strategic bombing, members of the Jewish faith in the Holocaust, nuclear-explosion deaths in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan, and battle deaths. Because of modern machinery, the world had not seen a deadlier conflict before World War II, and it would not see a deadlier conflict afterwards.
