Dean and Dan Caten of Dsquared2 like to say that they are "Born in Canada, living in London, made in Italy."
The designing pair seem everywhere. Or at least their designs do. They claims clients the likes of Christina Aguilera, Justin Timberlake, Madonna, Lenny Kravitz, Naomi Campbell and Rihanna.
The fashion-school dropouts worked behind the scenes as designers for Versace and Diesel before launching Dsquared2, their namesake brand. The Canadian identical twins moved to Milan, Italy in the early 1990s. After launching a men's collection in the mid-1990s, they started a women's collection in 2003.
The Caten twins appeared on America's Next Top Model and in music videos. They received the 2003 GQ Men of the Year Fashion Breakout Award and the 2006 Golden Needle Award. In September 2009, they were inducted in Canada's Walk of Fame. They also co-host and judge Launch My Line, a competition reality show on the Bravo network.

"Sophisticated and beautiful" were the words that Dan Caten used to describe the outfits for the Vancouver 2010 Olympics Opening and Closing Ceremonies for the Winter Games in an interview for Air Canada's enRoute magazine.
They carried the Olympic torch in Vancouver where they launch a limited-edition Olympic sweatshirt celebrating Canada, exclusively at Holt Renfrew. Then they fly to Milan Fashion Week to show their latest designs and back to Vancouver for the Olympic's Closing Ceremonies.
When they appeared on NBC's Today Show (February 12, 2010), the twins kept the secret about the look that they designed for the Olympic performers.
