Information, pricing, and reviews on the new "green bags" for produce.

What are green bags?

Debbie Meyer Green Bags.

Debbie Meyer has created an incredible new food storage bag called the "green bag". The green bag uses natural minerals to neutralize gases given off by fruit and vegetables which speed up the decaying process in our produce.

My own review of Debbie Meyer's Green Bags.

Do green bags really work?

I think most everyone has had the experience where you've bought some fruits or vegetables while thinking about how much you'd like this fruit or that fresh vegetable, and that's a good thing, fruits and vegetables should be an important part of our diet. They are, however often left out of our meal plans because while our intentions are good at the time we bought the produce, we just don't want to eat it everyday, and so it goes in a storage compartment in the fridge and we forget about it completely. Then, after a while you start to crave that piece of fruit again and go back to the fridge only to discover an inedible waste.

The green bags are really the key here, and will save you a lot of disappointment and yes money too. They really do keep your fruits and veggies in good shape without sacrificing on the taste. I give this product 5 out of 5 stars.

Chances are...

You've already heard about this product, either through word of mouth or maybe some hyped up tv commercial. Go ahead and listen to the talk, they really are worth the hype, maybe not as much as some infomercial may want you to believe but they are incredibly useful, and reusable to boot!

-My one word of advice though is to stay away from the as seen on tv online ordering and place your order through Amazon.com -Amazon is a much more trusted site with excellent customer service. You can order the Green Bags through Amazon by clicking on the link provided below.

A quick list of Pros and Cons.

The good and the bad about Debbie Meyer's green produce storage bags.

First off the good points:
  • They keep fruits and vegetables fresh for up to 1 month.

  • They're reusable up to 10 times each bag.

  • They save you money in the long run as you waste less food.

  • They are easily affordable, right now you can get 20 bags for $9.99 and that means 200 uses if you reuse the bags!

And now the bad points:
  • Not all fruits and vegetables will last one month in storage, tomatoes and lettuce do fine, but cucumbers not so good. Just remember that it says -up to- 1 month and keep an eye on your food until you know what works and what doesn't.

Green Bags get tested by channel 4 news.

Channel 4 News reviews Debbie Meyer's Green Bags.

In this video demonstration of the green bags a selection of fruits and vegetables were put into the green bags and stored for 21 days in the refrigerator.

What was tested:
Cucumbers
Unfortunately the cucumbers didn't hold up for the 21 days. They were mushy!
Tomatoes
The tomatoes did stand to the test lasting 21 days while stored in the green bags with no decline in ripeness or taste!
Lettuce
The lettuce also had outstanding results, staying crisp and fresh after 21 days of storage.
Bananas
The bananas turned black, Eeek! However they were reported to taste good!
