    What a wonderful story! I am happy for you, Debbie and Tony! Congratulations and best wishes to you both. I read the entire story, and I enjoyed every bit of it. My sweetie and I met in '81 when we were kids then didn't speak (I was mad at him) for about 26 years until I found him on MySpace. We were both shocked that neither of us had been married before or had kids. That was 2 and a half years ago, and we are still together, but haven't tied the knot....yet. I plan to make a lens about our story eventually. You two look so beautiful and happy in your wedding photo! Congratulations!! ~Vicki~

    My long distance relationshship was between NZ and Wisconsin. Been married 6 years now and my immigration story was way happier than yours. I almost laughed when they wanted to know if it was a marriage of convenience - how more inconvenient could the distance be! Nice lens and wish you luck.

    I don't recall ever reading this page before, but I already knew a few things about the two of you. What a wonderful story but what a shame you had to go through so much. I know firsthand how frustrating immigration can be. Best of luck to the two of you for many years to come.

    I met my second husband on the Internet, but things moved much faster for us. I actually moved to California from Kansas without ever having seen a picture of him. The hardest part was leaving my children behind, and that wound has never healed, although it has been 12 years. So perhaps the long slow way is the best.

    Thanks for sharing this story. I am happy you found each other. My husband and I also say we probably wouldn't have liked each other when we were younger.

    This initially caught my eye as I am called Debbie and my husband, of 18 years, is called Tony but I must admit, once I started reading, I just had to read all the way to the end and am so pleased that everything worked out well for you.

    What a great story and I am so happy for you both! I joined Squidoo just a few weeks after you Deb and you were my very first SquidPal and Tony wasn't far behind. It was your comments on my Bullying lens that gave me the confidence to believe that Squidoo was a place where i would fit in.

    Then I get to the bottom of the Lens and see what you have written about me and I am absolutely overwhelmed. I am really looking forward to that meetup we have promised ourselves and I am so glad to see you making more lenses.

    I had made up my mind that this lens deserved a Blessing before I saw what you wrote about me so Angel Blessings to you girl!

    Thanks for sharing your story! I had wondered how you met. I lived in Florida for a year, only 1100 miles from my home and family; I was miserable at Christmas. The hot weather, so on and so forth, it just wasn't the same. I can imagine how hard it was for you! Glad you'll be together after July...that's really close!
