Led by the maniacal Megatron, the Decepticons are the villainous counterparts in The Transformers cartoon and toy lines. In the original cartoon series the Decepticons warring tendencies were credited to their origins as military hardware. After inciting a civil war on Cybertron, the Decepticons became sworn enemies of the heroic Autobots.
