Build Your Business From Your Book

In today's society your target market is searching for recommendations to solve their very real problems. To be successful and build your business from your book, you need to intentionally narrow your ideal client's choice to those who are on top and that should be you.

You need to follow Zipf's Law based on the principle that the market place loves a winner and they will support the winner every time.

You need to become their intentional choice and become the de facto winner.

Develop Your Ability from Information to Recommendation

It is time that you develop your ability to go from Information Age to Recommendation Age with your book.

During the Information Age mounds and mounds of data were generated and became a Data Dump.

What the data dump gave was information, and so much information that people spent hours and hours going through this massive amount of information. It gave them good quality information, but they spent hours just trying to get through it and it went to the data basket, bottom of the pile or the circular file.

The difference between the Information Age and the Recommendation Age is that in the Information Age all this material needs interpretation and in the Recommendation Age the material informs intelligently and quickly providing useful information.

It Starts With The Idea

It all starts with the Idea.

Ideas thrived in the Information Age, but as an "infopreneur" you are not paid to sort, retrieve or deliver information. You are paid to make decisions and help your clients make decisions showing them specifically what they need to do to solve their very pressing problems.

What people want is to trust a winner in order to help them make important ongoing decisions.

Know The Definitions

You need to understand the following three important definitions:

  1. Knowledge = Information + Experiences

  2. Wisdom = Self-Reflection + Knowledge

  3. Thesis = What are you trying to prove? (What you are trying to prove is that your system will solve a very specific problem(s) in the market place.

Experience Counts

Your target market wants a relationship with you the author. They want the information filtered through your lens of life -- Your Experiences.

In other words they want Knowledge and NOT information.

Leverage Your Markets

To leverage your market, the key that drives you forward is the power of self-reflection and your ability to out self-reflect your competitors and your target market.

When you can do this correctly and show your optimum clients how to apply knowledge you are on your way to becoming the Decision Broker for your industry and you will begin to build your business with your book.
