The 30 Day Declutter Challenge!
What You Need To Get Started!
First things first. Get yourself a large, easily write-able calendar such as the one below. This will be your Game Plan Sheet, your Success Record, and your Motivator all in one! Sit yourself down and FILL IN those squares with one or two areas that you will challenge yourself to declutter each day. Do NOT make the items overly large tasks. Do NOT be unrealistic. But DO fill in each square from Monday through Saturday, allowing yourself a "day off" each Sunday in which you can relax and admire your success.
30 Day Declutter Challenge Suggestions
One Month, and Your House Will Thank You!
Here are some random ideas to get you started filling your calendar. Remember, the possibilities are as endless as the clutter that needs to be cleared!

- Pantry Cupboard Top Three Shelves
- Pantry Cupboard Bottom Three Shelves
- Shoes Area (throw out broken, never-worn, mate-less shoes...)
- Bills drawer
- Children's books (throw out broken ones or donate the unliked or never read ones)
- Tupperware or plastic containers drawer
- "Junk Drawer"
- Linen Closet
- Top drawer of desk
- Coat closet
- DVD or VHS shelf

- Utensils drawer
- Underwear drawer
- Laundry room shelves
- Etc...
How To Succeed With Your 30 Day Declutter Challenge
Ready, Set, Go!
Each day, get up with the intention of completing the self-assigned task as soon as possible. Putting it off until later that day is a recipe for not doing it at all... we all know that! Once it's completed, cross off the day with a big red check mark! If you miss a day (and let's be realistic, it could happen), simply catch up the next day that you can! Once your calendar is completely filled with big red checkmarks (or Xs or little pink hearts or stickers or $5.00 bills towards that shopping trip... whatever you like), you will have a much more organized and clutter-free house than you would have thought possible 30 days prior!

- As seniors, we have been decluttering for the past 5 years. We do not need things to trip over for sure! And we have lived in the same place for over 30 years, so clutter was everywhere! First big step - our adult children came and emptied the attic. They took their childhood "treasures" to their own homes and everything else to the dump. Then I cleared one closet for holiday items. (Seniors do not need to go to the attic -- ever!) Gradually, I am decluttering this little house. Paper is my most procrastinated item. From time to time, I make a "rule" that I have to declutter 15 pages a day. I think it grows here overnight! wonderful page! Thank you for the inspiration!
