Ranked #2,204 in Internet, #129,014 overall

Try this free Christmas tree decorating activity

Decorate your own online Christmas tree with this fun activity from Annie's Resource Attic, Ann Brundige's blog for sharing free educational resources for teachers and homeschoolers. This is a reading activity for K-3, but it's fun for all ages.

You can save your decorated virtual Christmas Tree to email it to your friends and relatives, or print it out and sign it as a holiday card!

You could even use it the way my family recycles old holiday cards: when we mail packages, since bows would be crushed, we'll instead cut out and tape a pretty holiday card onto the top of each present.

Time to Trim the Virtual Tree!

Here's What to Do

Virtual Christmas Tree Decoration

Okay, it's time to decorate your tree! Go to:

Online Holiday Tree Activity

When you're done decorating your virtual Christmas Tree, right-click (control-click on Mac) the tree and pick "Save As..." Save a copy of your tree to print out or email (save a tree!) to friends as a holiday e-card!

Free Christmas Tree Ornaments Printables

Annie's free K-12 resources never come in just one format. She also offers the Christmas Tree graphics as printables or holiday clip art, and as an interactive jigsaw puzzle.

There's a free Powerpoint version that mimics the online activity.

If you have Classroom Suite, you can download a more flexible version of the Holiday Tree Activity which allows kids to pick out individual ornaments.

This activity is more than just for fun; it's an educational activity highlighting Life Skills, Cause and Effect, and of course Holidays. It includes special needs overlays for Intellikeys ® and Dynavox ®.

They say as you get older, you get more like your parents. To some extent the opposite is also true: I helped Mom set up that blog! Anyway, here's some of my educational pages on Squidoo:

Whatever your religious background (my Jewish relatives always have the best Christmas Tree!), I hope you've enjoyed this fun little holiday activity. Please share it with your friends! My Mom is great at making cool free online resources, but every time I try to teach her how to promote her website, she balks. ;)
