Fun Decorating Cupcakes with Kids
Making and decorating cupcakes with kids is a lot of fun. The other day I read a darling lens on Horsey Cupcakes and since I have 2 granddaughters that love horses I figured this would be a fun activity to do with them.
Have you ever tried to make and decorate cupcakes with kids that didn't turn out at all like you thought they would? If you have kids this really is an entertaining activity, ours was "funny" as the kids said in the Video we made to show our Cupcakes.
Oh my, I think the only thing that didn't go wrong was the shopping part, but judge for yourself.

I saw the most darling Horse Themed Cupcakes the other day here on The Cupcake Club and decided I wanted to make these with my grandkids. Hmmm, next time I get a bright idea like that I think someone should show me the pictures of tonight's activity.
The Original Horse Cupcakes are nothing like ours
What a difference between the original and our kids cupcakes
We all get inspiration, or ideas, from somewhere, and for these cupcakes mine came from Sylvestermouse's Adorable Horse Cupcakes . She made, and decorated this special horse cupcake in honor of one of our friends, Squidoo lensmaster, HorseAndPony .
Well, I looked at her directions and thought "hey I can do that," however our very first challenge was we didn't have an oven! Yep, the house I rented recently doesn't have a working oven, but hey, that one was easily overcome. We'd buy the cupcakes pre-made, not frosted. However, I didn't remember we were supposed to have a Giant Cupcake, and believe me I think this would have made a big difference. In fact I didn't even know they had Giant Cupcakes and wouldn't have been able to make them anyway as I only have regular cupcake pans.

Make buying the ingredients and supplies part of the experience. I had both kids write out their own lists of what we needed. Of course, part of the shopping experience was letting them ride the Horse Carousel at the store :)

- Simply had to return to leave an ~*~* Angel Blessing *~*~ here for so many reasons. Just some of them: this lens is so much fun; fantastic use of photos and video; love the fact that you were inspired by Sylvestermouse who was inspired by HorseAndPony -- talk about supporting the Squidoo community!

- Nickie thank you for the Blessing..am laughing here as yes it was pretty fun to be copying Sylvesternouse's original Horse themed cupcake lens that she made for HorseAndPony :) We all laughed at the difference of how our cupcakes turned out, this was indeed good community fun :)

- Oh, Kathy! This is absolutely wonderful! You and your grandchildren did a wonderful job on the cupcakes and believe me, the memories of making them are a lot more important than anything else. This is an example of what makes decorating cupcakes fun! You granddaughters are so sweet and adorable. I look forward to seeing the panda cupcakes (between you and me, they are easier :)
