Decorating On A Budget

If you are trying decorating your home on a tight budget then the biggest challenge you will face is the selection of materials. Often it happens that we see some nice interior photo of a home or visit our friend's place and wish that my home would be "like that".

But when it comes to decorating your own home and when you start putting things together, you will notice that the budget is getting way too much out of control.

That's why the only solution for decorating on a budget is to do market research. When it comes to home decorating there are hundreds of products that come into the picture. Starting from wall finishes to small accessories for the final touch will add a value to your home decorating. By market research I mean that you should have a fair idea of what kind of costing does a particular set of item is. For example if you have decided to apply wallpapers on your living room, you should at least have an idea of the types of finishes and their respective pricing tags.

However such kind of market research can take time and your home decorating project can become lengthy. It is also possible that you lose interest out of the project altogether.

That's why my friend Joseph Murray has written a short report on how to use "common sense" and not market sense to go about decorating on a budget. He uses some easy to apply ideas to decorate various spaces in a home even if your are on a tight budget.

...And you thought decorating on a budget was hard?

One of the easiest ways to decorating on a budget is to write an "ordered schedule" of your decorating project.

What does this mean?

Let's see an example. If you are decorating your living room and have a following list of items to be completed in a week.

1) Applying wallpaper on all walls.
2) Replacing the internal wiring.
3) Polishing the furniture.
4) If possible covering the floor with a PVR carpet that matches the wallpaper
print.

Now if you carefully create a ordered schedule of these items you will easily save time and money in the whole process. Want to see how?

If you apply the wallpaper first, imagine what will happen to it when the electrical guy pops up and puts a drilling machine over it, a complete waste of
time and money.

Or even you apply the beautiful PVC carpet and the polishing guy spoils it when he polishes the furniture. Get my point? Write down a "ordered" list of renovating items, and see how decorating on a budget becomes an easy task.
