How To Care For Your Hand-Painted Decorative Wine Glasses
While the hand painting is done with much care and lots of detail, as well as baking after the painting to ensure that the paint doesn't leave the glass, there are some care tips that you should follow to ensure a long life shelf of your decorative wine glasses..
When you clean then you need to gently wash them with soapy water using a cloth or a mild sponge. Don't put them in the dishwasher because after a few times the paint will chip away and you will end up with boring, bland clear glasses instead.
Also avoid using any strong chemicals and don't keep your glasses immersed for a long time fully in the water.
In addition, you should never put these glasses in the freezer.

Handpainting Wine Glasses
If you are a crafty kind of person, you might want to give a shot to painting your own clear wine glasses to get a decorative wine glass effect. There is a growing trend in artisan hand painting work which can be very easily applied to wine glasses.
Please note that this is NOT a specific instruction on how to paint on glass. There are many instructions on how to paint flowers or motifs and below you can find some great videos to follow. This list is a general set of instructions on getting the decorative motif on your glass with paint.
So here are some of the basic steps to get you started with handpainting your own wine glasses. Have fun!
- 1Clean well your clear glass with rubbing alcohol. Once you've cleaned an area, avoid touching it with your fingers.
- 2Choose the paint (or paints) you want to use for your new work of art. Btw, a good paint type to start out with is enamel paint.
- 3Dip your brush into the colors.If you use only two colors, then dip each of the ends of your brush into one of the two colors selected.
- 4Start painting. For example if you are painting a flower, start with the petals. Then continue until you have the entire motif (or flower) painted on the glass.
- 5Once the painting is done, you need to clean your brush. Don't let it sitting in paint to dry as then you can throw away the brush altogether. Simply put it in a glass of water and push the brush gently from one side to the other so that the paint leaves easily.
- 6You can bake the glass in the over for extra paint durability. Place the glass in your oven, set the temperature and the time and let it stay there until the required time. Then leave it in the oven to cool off completely.
