I have two old working decoys. I have tried unsuccessfully to find out more about them but the only books I find are on hand carved wood decoys.
One is a JC Higgins decoy. I believe this was from Sears & Roebuck. It appears to be some sort of foam over wire.

The other one is a collapsible decoy. It has a rounded wood base and a painted decoy top made of canvas or some other heavy material. There is a metal lever on the right side of the decoy that when rotated activates a spring system inside the fabric. This causes the decoy to expand for use. I've attached a picture below. This is one I would like to know more about. When and where it was made, approximate value, etc. I've tried antique shops, hunt clubs, hunting magazines,Cabelas, Bass Pro, Ducks Unlimited, and as I've said dozens of books. I can't even find anyone who has seen one of these before.

Can you be of any help or point me in the right direction?

    Thanks,

    Roger Altena
