WHEN YOU'RE IN IT UP TO YOUR EARS, KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT

Whether from a scheme of their own devising that goes horribly wrong, or because they were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time, people get themselves in trouble in practically every way imaginable. Often as not they try to talk their way out of it again, and often as not discover talking is exactly the wrong thing to do. They needed a reminder about the eternal value of silence. Now, at long last, one is available.

A New Coping Strategy For People In A Jam

Illustrated Aphorisms, a fashion trend leader and repository of unverified facts, has introduced two variations of a graphic that outlines the correct protocol to use in situation of this kind. It employs the phrase, "When You're In It Up To Your Ears, Keep Your Mouth Shut," but shapes the text to resemble a human head. To further emphasize the point, the first nine words and the last three are different colors.

When You're In It Up To Your Ears, Keep is printed in black

Your Mouth Shut is either in blue or brown. The suggested effect is of a head immersed in a fluid such as water or... something else.

"We're very pleased with the result," noted executive designer and custodian Frank Rawland. "It's detailed enough to represent the scenario we wanted, yet simple and easy to interpret. Most of the time the instructional material that tries to deal with this problem is so confusing it spins your head around. And when that happens it screws you even deeper into the stuff you're trying to get out of."

The Usual Boilerplate

Illustrated Aphorisms was founded in 2008 to promote the edification and all around betterment of humanity through the online sale of edifying and better-amating visual design innovations. These designs have been applied to t-shirts, jerseys, hoodies, totes, posters, calendars, mugs, buttons, refrigerator magnets, greeting cards, buttons, caps, and items of a similar nature that people really need. Even if they don't always realize it.
