I love cocktails, cocktail parties, cocktail dresses, cocktail glassware............you get the idea!

There are so many different types of cocktails, in this lens we're just going to focus on those starting with D,E & F.   Cocktails such as the Daiquiri, Envy or a French Martini.

Cocktails beginnning with D 



Daiquiri

3 parts Cuban white rum
1 part lime juice
1 1/2 parts sugar syrup

Combine all of the ingredients into a cocktail shaker and shake for 10 seconds before straining into a cocktail glass.

Damn the Weather

4 parts gin
1 tbsp sweet vermouth
2 tsp triple sec
1 part fresh orange juice

Combine all ingredients, along with ice, in a cocktail shaker. Shake and strain into a martini glass to serve.

Death by Chocolate

1 shot vodka
1 shot crème de cacao - brown
1.5 shots amarula cream
3 scoops chocolate ice-cream

Blend all of the ingredients together with a little crushed ice. Serve in a parfait glass and garnish with chocolate shavings.

Diplomat

2 shots dry vermouth
1 shot sweet vermouth

Shake all of the ingredients together with ice. To serve strain into a cocktail glass.
Duchess

4 parts pernod
1 part dry vermouth
1 part sweet vermouth

Shake all of the ingredients, with ice, in a shaker and strain into a cocktail glass.

 

Cocktails begining with E 

Earthquake

4 parts blended whiskey
2 parts gin
2 parts pernod

Combine all the ingredients, along with ice, in a cocktail shaker. Shake well and strain into a martini glass

Egg Nog

750ml Brandy
1 1/2 quarts milk
1 pint whipped heavy cream
1 cup bar sugar
dozen eggs
freshly grated nutmeg

Seperate the eggs and beat the yolks with the sugar in a large punch bowl. Put the egg whites to one side. Stir the milk and whipped cream into the punch bowl. Add the brandy and refrigerate for at least an hour. Before serving, whip the egg whites stiff and fold into the egg nog. Sprinkle with freshly grated nutmeg.

El Presidente

Here's the instructions:-

4 parts light rum
2 parts fresh lime juice
1 tsp grenadine
1 tsp pineapple juice

Place all the ingredients, along with ice in a cocktail shaker, shake and strain into a martini glass.

Envy

1/2 shot vodka
2 shots Midori
1 shot Frangelico
1 shot peach schnapps
1/4 shot freshly squeezed lime juice

Shake all of the ingredients together with ice. Strain into a cocktail glass to serve.

Cocktails beginning with F 

Fifty Fifty

To make this you need:-

4 parts gin
4 parts dry vermouth
1 spanish olive

place ingredients, along with ice into a mixing glass and stir, then strain into a martini glass, then add the olive.

French 75

4 parts gin
1 tbsp sugar syrup
2 parts fresh lemon juice
Champagne

Combine all the ingredients except the Champagne in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake well and strain into a chilled highball glass. Fill with Champagne and garnish with a lemon twist.

French Connection

4 parts cognac
2 parts amaretto

Pour ingredients into an old fashioned glass over ice and stir well.

French Martini

2 shots vodka
1/2 shot freshly pressed pineapple juice
1/2 shot Chambord

Shake all of the ingredients together with ice. Strain into a cocktail glass to serve.
