How to OVERCOME Depression!
If you are anything like me, then we are both sick and tired of being sick and tired!
Last year I spent my free time, broke, depressed, under-appreciated, unhealthy, lonely, fatigued, did I say broke?... and to top it all off I was Pregnant and Pissed off!
Half way through this year, guess what? I have improved my financial situation SUBSTANTIALLY! Ha! and I am on the right track to no longer being depressed, under-appreciated, unhealthy , lonely, oh GOD and all that other crap. Why? Because I had the sudden audacity to change my mind! I couldn't stand it anymore. I got tired of "crying" at the drop of a dime and taking pills which were suppose to make me SMILE :o/ My nerves were shot, my husband was going gray and I couldn't enjoy my newborn son.
So one day while I was home in a pill induced, joyous state, I rolled over and decided to check my e-mail (of course checking my e-mail to see who HADN'T mailed me so I could go into the next no one wants to talk to me guilt trip phase, was just another way for me not to face reality) and of course NO ONE had sent me even a piece of spam! Either way, as I was closing my browser I see this little ad that says:
Okay, so who wouldn't want to live longer? At this point I was desperately seeking answers as to what was wrong with me. Why wasn't I happy anymore? I was looking for help but couldn't ASK for help (I know YOU know what I mean), but inside my own four walls, I could click on this one simple link, see what was being offered in way of giving me my life back, and no one was there to judge me or look at me as if to say, "Suck it up and get over it, you have a child to take care of!" I was silently seeking help! I found so much more!
I have been where you are, silently seeking a way out of a crushing disposition. I started reading free articles, subscribing to newsletters, e-zines and online courses. I bought e-books, hardcopy, and joined message boards and member sites. I was on a rampage to recovery. I had people to talk to, I had e-mails in my inbox (so what if it was a newsletter, it was correspondence with someone who wasn't looking down on me), and I had focus.
So many people have faced obstacles and battled their way out. Surprisingly these people realized that someone, somewhere may be lacking: Mentally, Spiritually, Physically, In Relationships, or Financially, just as they were, and decided to HELP make a change in that someone's life, whether through articles, books, software, courses, or interactive forums online, the resources where put out there. All at the click of a button away from every lurking eye who just doesn't understand!
*Depression is a very serious Mental Health illness, in no way will I ever make light of anyone's battle. My goal is to offer a hand without a voice. No judging eyes. My change started on the inside, looking and searching.
Stop being Negative, Disbelieving, and Skeptical, and open up to the information that is out there to help YOU!

Overcome Your Fear
The Best Way to Beat Depression
Overcoming your fears sometimes isn't easy. The thought of being judged by your friends and family sometimes creeps into your mind, leaving you unable to tackle day to day tasks. What are we afraid of? Failure? Success? There are differences in the types of interpersonal challenges we all may have. Personally, I have always been afraid of failure. What if no one likes my ideas. In order to change this mindset, I remind myself that, "My Desire to Succeed, Is Greater Than My Fear of Failure!" You can also learn how to overcome your fears and regain control over your emotions by taking action and diving into a few very good books that helped me.
Taking Control of Your Body
Natural treatments of depression were best for me.
- Exercise may be the most natural way to deal with depression and anxiety
- Exercise has long been touted as a way to maintain physical fitness and help prevent high blood pressure, diabetes and other diseases. A growing volume of research shows that exercise can also help improve symptoms of certain mental health conditions, including depression and anxiety. Exercise may also help prevent a relapse after treatment for depression or anxiety. - By Mayo Clinic Staff
Taking on a high energy training program such as spinning classes or even dance aerobics can sometimes get your mind off of what's keeping you down so try to alter you mood with high intensity exercise. I suggest focusing on those ABS. Discover the myth about perfect abs and why skinny people are over-rated anyway. All jokes aside. One day I found myself in sweat shorts and running shoes heading out the door, i-Pod blaring and water bottle in tow. Striving to change one aspect of your life, which leaves you totally unhappy will ALWAYS spill over and lead you to change the next!
How to Lose Stubborn Body Fat
Push yourself. Don't be afraid to sweat it out and allow yourself to get the most from a strong 1 to 1.5 hour work out! If you have not been active for some time start by walking and increase your daily activities as needed. Once I was able to walk about 2 miles with ease I moved on to a strength workout such as the ones here:
Arghhhh! Just Scream!
Signs of Depression
Okay so sometimes the things I thought were normal didn't work for me. I could not find any enjoyment in the things I typically loved to do, such as reading and spending time gardening. Stepping outside of my box, every now and again, to try something new seemed to give me minimal relief, and as I did this I came across things of interest. I guess you could say I was at that Grrrrrrr stage where I felt I was on the right track but I wasn't...anyway...I don't know about you, but things that have to do with my "brain" always interest me.
You know in Hannible the guy sits at the table with his brain exsposed and I'm thinking is it good for air to get inside my head like that...HA! Get it? Air Head!!!
Okay so I seem to be full of jokes but honestly, if you think of things that interest you and step outside of your normal routine ,which is not working, and try finding an interest in something new, maybe the power of numbers and cosmic energy, you can find ways to relate new ideas to exciting, funny, or even silly moments in your life, you may find your mood may get a little better. Learning new things is exciting and being knowledgeable increases anyones confidence. Lack of confience in oneself is a considerable sign of depression. Re-gain your confidence by slowly increasing your knowledge.

You Are Not Alone
I Have Depression. You Have Depression.
Sometimes the best thing to do is talk to someone. It helped me to join a support group for depression, where you will find those who are going through treatments of depression, or have been right where you are, looking for a way to get over depression. Visit with others going through similar situations and find out how you may be able to naturally deal with depression by slowly reintroducing yourself to a social scene..
Striving For Success
At the end of it all, and even in the middle of my downward spiral, I would worry about the day I'd have more. The day I'd have more laughs, more free moments with family, more opportunities at my job (of course this meant more money). I just wanted so much more for my life. I wanted to be Satisfied and Successful in life! After all my reads I stumbled upon something that had me thinking, "Have I been on the wrong track all this time?" No, I wasn't on the wrong track I just needed to piece everything together and put forth the effort to be successful at changing my circumstances. How would I be able to rebuild a romantic relationship which was very important to myself and the future of my family. How could I be better at motherhood, today, than I was yesterday?

Just as I did you can build your own Road Map to Success and Change Once you realize you have all you've ever needed for the journey ahead already within you, there won't be anything to keep you from moving forward. Why? Because, obstacles are nothing in life but things to step on. Depression can be overcome. Simply take it one day at a time, while having the right attitude for success, and this will be the most important factor in your journey to beating depression and living your life fully satisfied.
