Def Leppard Videos Through the 1980's
My favorite band of all time is Def Leppard, so I wanted to do a showcase of Def Leppard Videos - specifically highlighting the 80's. I love the music, the sound, the memories. Of course, I think Joe Elliot is hot. And I admire Rick Allen - the drummer in my intro pic who lost his arm, yet came back to continue drumming.
Joe Elliot had a dream of a band called "Deaf Leopard," which was realized in 1977 when he joined the band, "Atomic Mass."
Rick Savage (bass player), Pete Willis (guitarist) and Tony Kennig (drummer) made up Atomic Mass at the time that Joe Elliot joined as the lead singer. With some tweaking, the band was named after Joe's dream and became "Def Leppard."
The legendary Steve Clark joined as the second guitarist in 1978. That same year, Tony Kennig was fired and was replaced with Frank Noon. Rick Allen replaced Frank shortly after. Rick was 15!
The Def Leppard EP was released in 1979 with Ride Into the Sun, Getcha Rocks Off and Overture. It's now out of production.
And this leads right into Def Leppard Videos Through the 1980's . . .

On Through the Night
Def Leppard's Debut Album from 1980
Def Leppard's debut album, On Through the Night, was released in 1980. The band members were Rick Allen (drummer), Steve Clark (guitarist), Pete Willis (guitarist), Rick Savage (bass player) and Joe Elliot (lead singer). You can learn more about the band on their official site. The most memorable songs for me from this album are Rock Brigade & Hello America. Watch a 1979 version of Rock Brigade below . . .
High 'n' Dry

High 'n' Dry came out the next year, in 1981. I love Let it Go, Bringin' on the Heartbreak, Switch 625, Lady Strange and On Through the Night.

Pyromania
Def Leppard's Album in 1983
Def Leppard's third album, Pyromania, came out in 1983. Pete Willis left the band in 1982 and Phil Collen took his place. The most memorable songs for me from this album are Rock! Rock! (Till You Drop), Photograph, Too Late For Love, Die Hard the Hunter, Foolin' and Rock of Ages.

Hysteria
Def Leppard's 1987 Album
The car crash that took the arm of drummer, Rick Allen, took place on New Year's Eve in 1984. Yet, Rick came back to drum even better with one arm than two, according to Joe Elliot! The band released their hugely successful album, Hysteria, in 1987. I saw them in concert in Calgary, Alberta, Canada during their Hysteria tour. Women, Rocket, Animal, Love Bites, Pour Some Sugar on Me, Armageddon It and Hysteria are my favorites.
