- No to sleeping pills - Do not take sleeping pills, tranquilizers or any anti histamine drugs to induce sleeping. These medications make your muscles relax limiting air passage and make you snore all through the night.
- Eliminate alcohol, tobacco from your diet. These substances relax the throat, enlarging and inflaming the muscles that contribute to snoring. If this is not possible, avoid those 2 hours before going to bed.
- Make a regular sleeping pattern - Follow a regular sleep routine so that your body sticks to it. Moreover, sleeping on your side instead of your back will definitely stop snoring for you as it positions the body for a good sleep. Prepare the surroundings clean without any congestion while you are asleep.
- Use a thicker pillow - Try to sleep on a firmer pillow as one may experience the relaxing of throat muscles in case of soft pillows. Elevate your head by sleeping on multiple pillows to stop snoring while you sleep.
- Use a humidifier- Keeping nasal passages clear opens your airway. Stuffiness causes you to breathe through the mouth, which enhances snoring. Using eucalyptus oil in the humidifier or on your pillowcase is a natural antihistamine. The humidifier and oils will moisturize the throat, keeping it nicely coated for proper breathing.
- Sleeping on your side or your stomach instead of your back may reduce snoring. Sew a tennis ball on the back of your sleeping shirt to prevent you from rolling over during sleep.
- Eat honey - Try taking in a little honey before you go to sleep. Honey intake clears the airways naturally enabling you to stop snoring.
- Avoid baked products - Avoid eating baked food items such as cakes, cookies, chocolates and pizza which are hindrance to stop snoring.
- Lose weight - If you are overweight, lose it. Excess fat around the neck can cause the airway to block so exercise regularly to develop good muscle tone.
- Get plenty of exercise - Keeping fit is always a good idea and will also provide the snorer a release of energy, potentially making him or her tired enough to get a full night's deep sleep.
- Elevate the head of your bed - This will force your tongue and jaw into proper position that can reduce snoring.
- Avoid a full stomach before going to bed - this pushes your diaphragm up and limits your breathing passageway.

1) Your throat can be very weak and fall in when you sleep. This is very common for people who suffer from sleep apnea.
2) Your tongue may drop into your throat when you sleep and block it. The tongue is a muscle and if that muscle is weak, then it's more likely to drop into the throat.
3) Tense jaw muscles put pressure on the breathing passages. This is what many dentist try to deal with by putting in dental implant. An easier way to avoid this is loosing up and relaxing the jaw muscles.
3) The Jaw may press on the breathing passage narrowing it. Often this is because of tension in the muscles around the Jaw that press it out of its normal healthy position.

I'm not talking about heavy work out. The breathing passage and the area around it is very fragile, so you have to use light, non straining exercises. It takes a little bit of time but not much effort.
This is very fragile area so the exercises are fine tuned and do not demand much effort, only commitment for few weeks.
The beauty of working out your breathing passage is that the same exercises will work for what ever may be blocking your throat.
The simplicity of this is that no matter what blocks your breathing passage, the same few exercises will cure you.
You'll actually strengthen and open up the whole breathing passage, from your throat up to the nasal opening.
Touch your voice box with your left hand (the big chunk on the front of your throat). Now also touch your forehead with your right hand. From your left hand to your right is the area you're going to be training and removing any block from.
Training the tongue will strengthen in and by doing that, prevent it from dropping into your throat when you sleep.
This is only small example how you can exercise your breathing passage.
How long you exercise every day is up to you. You can train for as little as three minutes a day.
I recommend committing to 7-12 minutes a day for quick, permanent results. After you cure your self, you never have to do the exercises again.
