Don't delete Lenses, and here's why.

Please don't delete your Lens before reading this important information

A Squidoo Lens has a permanent value. This means that over time, it becomes registered in all the major search engines. Many Squidoo members lack the time or move onto other time consuming activities, so decide to delete a Lens. Because of its residual value, there are other members that would like to take over the Lens. Add the Lens you wish to dispose below and let all you efforts have a new life. It's just the same with a web page, never delete a page that has already found it's way into the listings. Find a new use or place a link back to your site with a short message. I have remove some old pages from my Website Audits website menu, but the pages are still available.

Squidoo Lenses are worth saving

Squidoo'ers put a lot of time and effort into creating Lenses and managing Groups. It is always sad when a Lensmaster decides to shut down a Lens or Group for personal reasons. We also put a lot of effort into joining the right groups for our lenses, do you want to have all that time wasted?

The purpose of this Lens is to encourage the transfer of Lenses to other Lensmasters. There are three suggested methods.

1. Add your Lens to this Lens and hope you will be contacted.
2. If it is a group, contact all members with the details. (Groups are now all Lenses)
3. The following Lensmaster will accept most requests for transfer. Helmut

You can also use the "Transfer a Lens" from the Squidoo menu bar, this lets you transfer Lenses and groups you own to another Lensmaster.

You may know that no new groups are being created. This is a Squidoo decision. So every existing group name becomes more valuable. The big surprise is that major name companies have not seen the benefits of using the Squidoo network.

Are Squidoo Lenses important?

The answer is YES. If you are a first timer to Squidoo, this is the best place to create a webpage about your subject and have it published to the world. Great to put the url at the bottom of all your emails, and you can earn money.
You can also buy and sell Lenses and link to Ebay. There is a very large collection of existing modules to get your on your way.

If you already run a website, you know the benefits of PageRanking and how the search engines just love links to your site, especially if you use bold text and the correct keywords. Original lenses on Squidoo are a great way to achieve this.

    Wouldn't you know, I misspelled a word in the URL. I'd like to delete the lense and start from scratch. Would someone tell me how to delete the lens? I have not published it yet.

    I even had Megan Casey from Squidoo shut down a group, no chance given to take it over. It is so frustrating finding the right group for it to be deleted.

    great lens! I lost membership at 3 differant groups this week alone, due to the owner shutting them done. I would gladdly have taken over as the new group leader for all three of those groups had the group owner have only asked if their were any members willing.

    Likewise I'd gladly take over most any g rated lens, because I hate to see lenses deleted... several of my fave lenses suddenly vanished because a lensmaster deleted their account and all of their lenses at the same time. Most of them, I would have taken over had the lensmaster told us they were leaving.

    I'm lensrolling this, so I can come back to ckech on these lists
