MINIATURE and ACEO art
I have been painting miniature paintings for over 20 years, the smallest being 2" x 2" acrylic paintings and 1" Rocks, then for the past two years I have painted the popular collectible ACEO cards 2.5" x 3.5". My cards can be found on my websites, in particular "ACEO art by Delia" or on ebay, or at a Gallery in Wisconsin. I'm not sure why I put myself through the physical and mental pain of painting such small images...however it is satisfying and cathartic, you get to paint many more images then if you where to paint larger ones. Please remember,the profits I make selling my artworks, are donated to my favorite organizations INTOUCH MINISTRY and The WORD FOR THE WORLD, USA ... plus other organizations that spread the word of God

ACEO images from photographs
I primarily use my own photographs for the subject matter, but also paint many from memory...just like I did for the Gallop Home LLC Board Game, Coloring Book and Puzzles, all from memory.(check out my Gallop Home Lens)Some ask, can you paint the image to look like the photo? Yes I can, however when I paint for myself I like to tell a story, so I incorporate a different background or color...artist discretion.
My large paintings have a tiny, tiny angle or cherub incorporated somewhere in the painting...where it's placed is only disclosed to the person who buys the painting.
Generally I take about 5 hours to create a very detailed 2.5" x 3.5" image, selling on ebay for a starting bid of $4.99 or $9.50 depending on the time I spent on it. Sometimes I don't get anymore then the starting bid, I call those the sacrifices. I have noticed that my cards are selling for a lot more at this time, and I know that someday they will increase in value.

recent COMMISSION for a client...
a small painting with a big subject
Although I have not had a chance to paint since my involvement of painting a 16'x 20' Mural, this is the only commission I painted for a client at Xmas...Painting on the right, is done in acrylic paint 8" x 10" in size...I don't care to do portraits, so to speak, they are stressful when you have never seen the horse or person in person...but I can say the client was very happy, and that makes me happy. ACEO MINIATURE cards 2.5" x 3.5"

ACEO cards are 2.5" x 3.5" the acronym is Art Cards Editions Original, they have become highly collectible on ebay and on the internet. Some artists paint mass produced, the same images over and over and sell well, however I believe those will be the less valuable ones in years to come, as they have flooded the market. I paint about three or four a week, this making them more rare. You are getting an affordable piece of original art from an International Listed and Published artist, this is what you should be looking for when collecting these ACEO cards.
My pieces are either painted on acid free mat board or heavy watercolor paper, they are painted with acrylic, sometimes in watercolor, I mostly use primary colors I don't use black, they are sealed, signed and dated on the back, including an acid free plastic sleeve for protection.

You can buy massed produced items like lightswitch plates, calendars, mousepads etc. compare these to a "one of a kind" painting that will increase in value over time, realize the value of a handmade OOAK item. I am also selling ACEO cards by personal contact. At this time my ACEO landscapes are at a Gallery selling favorably for more then I offer on ebay. A NOTE:
I would like to add a note about painting small, miniature and ACEO..none-artists think because it is a "small" item it is not worth much...what they fail to realize, it's twice as hard to paint small, getting all that detail into that size and do it in less then 8 hours, at least that is for me, and I consider myself to paint fast. Think about the per hour payment, would you sell your hard work for less then $2.00 an hour?

I find it offensive and hurtful that someone would like to collect my art and 'complain' about how much I get paid...less then $2.00 per hour for the ACEO cards. I have some clients who are willing to bid high knowing the worth of the time and efford in such small images.
I Thank those collectors for remembering I am a Listed International recognized and collected artist.
