Capable of preparing espresso, coffee, cappuccino, latte drinks, and more, the DeLonghi Magnifica ESAM 3300 super-automatic machine features a unique beans-to-brew system that grinds coffee beans right before brewing for exceptionally aromatic espresso. The appliance comes equipped with two stainless-steel boilers that provide excellent heat distribution, as well as an instant reheat function, which keeps the machine at an ideal temperature, no matter how long the interval between cups. In addition, its quiet burr grinder automatically grinds beans and can be set to a specific grinding level, but the unit can also be used with ground coffee if preferred.
The DeLonghi Magnifica ESAM 3300 unit's front panel offers easily accessible controls for the on/off switch and cappuccino system, as well as for adjusting the quantity of water and coffee to suit individual tastes, from long or short to weak or strong. Its patented cappuccino system rotates 180 degrees to allow for any size milk container, plus the coffee spigot height can be adjusted to accommodate all different cup sizes--from a classic espresso cup to a tall mug. Stepped down from a Livia semi-auto, which we have owned for 20 years, which replaced a Pavoni, which replaced several Moka Express' in increasing sizes. A 48 year love affair with espresso. We wanted a little more convenience without compromising flavor. Based on the reviews here we purchased this machine and boy were the reviews right. This marvel produces fantastic coffee! We only drink super concentrated shots and we get them with superb ease - 2 dopios every morning; no time, no fuss, no cleanup, pure bliss.

We settled on this machine and have had zero problems. The quality is excellent and there isn't a day that it's not used in our house. I think it has already paid for itself. The crema on the coffee is excellent and better than you get at most places. I ordered mine online, received free shipping, used a 20% off coupon, and avoided taxes...total came to a little over $600. A pricey investment, but well worth it for us. Only cons for me is that it is noisy while grinding and the buttons and signals took some getting used to.

From reading reviews, I have determined that the Delonghi line of superautomatics is the most reliable in this price range. Once I narrowed my search to Delonghi, the choice came down to features. Basically, display or no display, or automatic frothing were the differences between models. I ended up getting the most basic model and I think it was the right choice for me. Frothing is not that difficult and I have learned to use small espresso cups propped under the frothing pitcher so I don't have to hold it during frothing. The display, while nice, is not really needed since the 3300 has lights that indicate the various modes, errors and maintenance items.It is very easy to use. Just feed it water and coffee beans and clean out the waste coffee pucks and water that collects in the catch tray.
The quality of the lattes is very good. The frothing isn't the best for latte art but thats fine with me.
