Dementia awareness Level 1 (Alzheimer's disease and Other Dementias):
This is for those with no knowledge of the subject. It covers types, diagnostics, assessments, processes and presentations.

Dementia awareness level 2 (Care and Support of People with Dementia):
This includes a clinical overview but its emphasis is on caring for people with dementia in the nursing and residential setting. Areas covered include supporting people whose behaviour challenges the service; providing therapy; challenging depression and motivating people to carry out appropriate activities.

Care and support of adults with a dual diagnosis:
Mental health awareness training course aimed at supporting those in residential care who have both an intellectual disability and mental illness

Behaviour That Challenges Services:

This offers students the opportunity to learn about assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating positive, non-aversive intervention strategies that will enhance the quality of life of residents. Also covered is the Royal College of Psychiatrists recommended de-escalation tactics (theory). Whilst emphasis is placed on being proactive, reactive measures are also taught and can be developed and provided in response to service need.

Alzheimer's disease and Other Dementias:
This course covers the topic in general terms and is relevant to those people who have little knowledge of dementia.
