George de Mohrenschildt was a key figure in JFK's assassination
George de Mohrenschildt was a wealthy Dallas petroleum geologist and engineer at the time of President John F. Kennedy's assassination, but in fact he had intelligence connections dating back to at least WWII, at which time he worked as an Allied Intelligence agent.
His close association with Lee Harvey Oswald in the months leading up to the assassination is often referred to as "baby sitting".
His and his wife's testimony to the Warren Commission was damaging to Oswald, but as an anti-communist closely associated with the White Russian community, he clearly wasn't someone who would have befriended Oswald, had Oswald been the pro-communist nut he was made out to be.
De Mohrenschildt died on the very day House Select Committee on Assassinations investigator Gaeton Fonzi was scheduled to meet with him for questioning regarding the assassination. His daughter found him in his bedroom, dead of what was ruled to be a self-inflicted shotgun blast.

Vincent Salandria was the first American to publish ANYTHING critical of The Warren Report. - Without doubt George was Oswalds original 'handler' when he returned from Russia. It was GdeM who introduced Lee and Marina to the White Russian subculture that adopted the couple when they first arrived back in the US. Nice lens Bob.

- Some fine points: Priscilla McMillan was apparently the first to interview him upon his return from Russia, she was Marina's interpreter after the assassination and she could always be relied on by the CIA. Ruth Paine brought Oswald to the party where he met GdeM and her intelligence connections are many. Oswald was a willing agent going back to Atsugi.
