Dennison's Bogie Book -- A 1925 Guide for Vintage Decorating and Entertaining at Halloween and Thanksgiving (13th Edition) [Paperback]

I was thrilled to find the Bogie Books on Amazon. What a thrill to read the ideas and suggestions they provide for planning and decorating for vintage holidays such as Halloween and Thanksgiving. Their ideas are very reminiscent of how many families still lived in the late 40's and early 50's.

The Bogie Books were published in the early 1900's and were a great source for planning a party. Every year showed different ideas related to new products that were being released by Dennison. You can definitely use them now days as a resource for planning a party or preparing for the holidays.

Because I was raised in the early 1950's, I was privileged to be around my two grandmothers who were born in the latter 1800's. They set a great example of how to set a table and how to decorate for the holidays. What we called old-fashion back then is now called vintage. What was remarkable about my grandmothers was that I got to see first hand what many younger people are now discovering.

While those times were one of great hardship and trials, they were also a time of much creativity and elegance. While I enjoy many of the modern conveniences of today, there was something special about the good old days when it came to holidays and celebrations. Hopefully, you will be able to pick up at least one of these great books and find out for yourself what vintage holidays are all about.
