What Do You Want to Do While You're in Denver, Colorado?

Don't you hate it when you go on ski vacations to a location like Denver, Colorado and you return home - only to find out you missed out on something you really would have liked to see?

It happens all the time - but using a guide like this can help you make sure you know all of the hot spots, as well as the destinations that are off the beaten path - the cool things only locals know about that they don't share to the tourist crowd.

The sun shines 300 days a year. Perfect weather, a friendly atmosphere - you couldn't ask for a better destination to visit or find a home to settle your family.  But where you go may depend on why you're there.

Are you a part of the young, hip crowd? If so, then you may want to plant yourself right in the middle of LoDo - the Lower Downtown district ripe with nightlife, pubs, and rooftop cafes.

If you're a music fan, you can clamor for the Red Rocks, which offers outdoor concerts with a view of the breathtaking Rocky Mountain range.  There's musical entertainment all over Denver - in each district.

If you're a shopping fanatic, then you'll HAVE to make a pit stop to Rockmount Ranch Wear and see 106 year-old Papa Jack while you're in Denver, Colorado

He's an old-timer who churned out the first Western shirt that had diamond buttons and his customers include rock stars and presidents!

Other districts have many malls and shops to satisfy your fashion cravings, too.

Denver, Colorado - Where Nature and Art Go Hand in Hand

Many destinations have restaurants, nightclubs, and amusement parks. But not every place in America provides a calming, educational, and spiritual outlet like Denver, Colorado.

If you want to get away from the stress and reconnect with nature, then Denver delivers 850 miles of paved, off-road biking trails you can use. Biking and skiing are two of the biggest outdoor activities in Denver.

Some people don't want to do the normal things others are attracted to, like biking and skiing - they want more adventure with their outdoor pursuits. If this describes you, then you might want to consider taking a hot air balloon or helicopter tour of the Denver, Colorado area.

Some adventurists like to kayaking right through downtown on the South Platte River or go white water rafting on Clear Creek. If you prefer a less risky tour of the city, you might take your roller blades to the parks and roll through Mother Nature's property to see the sites that way!

It may be that you love the indoors more than you do outside activities. If so, the art in Denver, Colorado will whet your appetite and have you clamoring for more. Stop by the Denver Art Museum and satisfy your senses with a myriad of shapes and color schemes.

There's also a Denver Performing Arts Complex, which offers ten performance venues that put on nightly shows for the public. There's also a Botanic Gardens in Denver, Colorado - 10 minutes east of the LoDo area.

Buying and Selling A Home In Denver....?

Try Unusual Foods in Denver, Colorado

Let's face it - one of the best parts of visiting a new destination is getting to sample new foods that we don't normally get in our own part of the country!

In Denver, Colorado, you'll get to try out many foods other locations don't usually provide.

The first dish you should taste test while in Denver is the bison. Never had it? Don't worry - it's very similar to beef, but with a sweet, rich flavor to it (and no, it doesn't have that "game-y" taste, either). Plus, it's friendly to your waist because bison meat is low on fat and calories!

Another thing you might want to order is elk! Elk meat is also sweet like bison but it tastes a lot like venison instead of beef from a cow. The Buckhorn Exchange restaurant serves a mean elk menu - but many other dining destinations do, too!

While you're dining, you might be shocked to find a foe on the menu - Rattlesnake! But in many restaurants, this slithery snack is the most expensive item on the menu.

Some restaurants you'll want to visit have nothing to do with the unique menu, but everything to do with ambiance!

In Denver, Colorado, you may want to spend a romantic date night at the Barolo Grill on East 6th Avenue or enjoy the indoor/outdoor airiness that the Black Pearl provides as the dining room doors are swung open to invite in a cool breeze while you chow down on candy apple duck or fresh oysters.

The History of Denver, by Wikipedia

The City and County of Denver (pronounced /?d?nv?/) is the capital and the most populous city of the state of Colorado, in the United States. Denver is a consolidated city-county located in the South Platte River Valley on the High Plains just east of the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. The Denver downtown district is located immediately east of the confluence of Cherry Creek with the South Platte River, approximately east of the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Denver is nicknamed the Mile-High City because its official elevation is exactly one mile, or 5,280 feet (1,609 m) above sea level. The 105th meridian west of Greenwich passes through Union Station, making it the reference point for the Mountain Time Zone. The city of Denver's area is much smaller than that of Colorado's second most populous city, Colorado Springs.

The United States Census Bureau estimated that the population of Denver was 598,707 in 2008, making it the 24th most populous U.S. city.http://www.census.gov/popest/counties/tables/CO-EST2008-01-08.csv The 10-county Denver-Aurora Metropolitan Statistical Area had an estimated 2008 population of 2,706,947 and ranked as the 21st most populous U.S. metropolitan statistical areahttp://www.census.gov/popest/metro/tables/2008/CBSA-EST2008-01.csv and the 12-county Denver-Aurora-Boulder Combined Statistical Area had an estimated 2008 population of 3,049,562 and ranked as the 16th most populous U.S. metropolitan area.http://www.census.gov/popest/metro/tables/2008/CBSA-EST2008-02.csv It is also the second-largest city in the Mountain West after Phoenix. Denver is the largest city in the Front Range Urban Corridor, a fast growing Combined statistical area stretching across eighteen counties in two states. The population of the Front Range Urban Corridor CSA is estimated at 4,251,663.http://www.census.gov/popest/counties/files/CO-EST2008-ALLDATA.csv The city has the tenth-largest central business district in the United States.Press Kit Detail
