  • Denver is the only city of its size that supports 6 national sports franchises: football, baseball, hockey, basketball, lacrosse and soccer.

    Denver's extensive park system was developed over many years thanks to 20's mayor Albert Speer and the WPA during the depression. Now, Denver has more open space including parks than any other US city.

    Need a better golf game? Denver's public golf courses are among the best and reasonably priced. Golf balls travel 10% farther here than at sea level.

    DIA contains $8 million in artwork. It is the country's largest public art program at a single facility.

    Denver has more than 310 sunny days every year. That is more than Honolulu, Miami or San Diego.

    Metro Denver has more sporting goods stores per capita than anywhere else. Denver's residents are among the fittest of any US city.

    The Denver Performing Arts Complex has the second largest theatre seating capacity in the United States. It's over 2800 hundred seats. In addition four other theatre areas and the symphony play here.

    Coors Field is used for major leage Baseball. Invesco at Mile High hosts the Denver Broncos. Pepsi Center is home court for Nuggets bastketball and Avs hockey. All are beautiful, new facilities unrivaled in major league sports.

    Cherry Creek Mall is Denver's fashion mall magnet. It attracts 16 million shoppers a year. Many of those are tourists visitng Denver primarily to shop!

    Denver is second in the number of college graduates per capita in the United States. Actually, Washington is number 1.

    Denver is the "Brew Pub Capital of the Nation." More beer is produced in Colorado than anywhere else. "The Great American Beer Fest" is held here annually.

    Denver maintains its own buffalo herd - descended from the last wild bison in the U.S., at Daniels Park.

    The National Western Stock Show is the world's largest rodeo and stock sale. Cowboy boots are always appropriate in Denver, even at the theatre.

    The top tourism market for Colorado and Denver is Colorado residents themselves.

    The historic Brown Palace hotel was named for it's founder The Unsinkable" Molly Brown. It's still one of the best hotels in the city hositing many special events including high tea.

    Twelve ski areas are within 90 minutes of the City.

    Denver's Tattered Cover bookstore ranks as the largest independent bookstore in the U.S.

    The new light rail system now connects downtown to both the southwest and the southeast suburbs. Several cities have free door-to-door mini-buses from light rail stations.
