Business Hotels in Denver
What defines a great business hotel, and what gives some hotels in Denver the edge over others? Here are a few suggestions for what to look for when booking a business hotel in Denver, and some top hotels which fit the bill nicely.Location
For those arriving in Denver on business or for a conference, the #1 requirement is location. If you can stay on-site for the conference or meeting, so much the better. It will save time and hassle getting a taxi at the end of the day, along with everyone else. Failing that, choose a hotel which is within walking distance of the event or that has a shuttle service. The Colorado Conference Centre is the most popular location for business events. Hotels close to the Financial District and the Conference Centre include the Ritz Carlton, the Hotel Monaco, the Denver Marriott and the Grand Marriott
Relaxation
At the end of a long day, business travelers should look for a hotel with an on-site restaurant and good room service. A hotel bar is a good place to network, arrange social get-togethers after work and should have private booths as well as bar stools. A workout in the fitness room is a great de-stressor, so choose a hotel with a gym or get out on the golf course if there is one, for a short 9-holes.
Business Services
For those away from the office, a full service business center is essential. High speed wireless internet, mail and package services, fax and photocopying services and access to a printer should all be provided by a top hotel without incurring additional service fees.
Those organizing a conference should book meeting and conference rooms which are easily accessible from the airport or railway station, and that have ample free parking for attending delegates. To meet the needs of those attending a conference or meeting, look for a hotel which is happy to provide secretarial services, audio visual equipment, conference calls, translation and transcription services to make the meeting go smoothly.
Amenities
Some essential services to look for are overnight dry cleaning, shoe shine, newspapers, ironing/pressing service (not just an iron and an ironing board), late check-out option, valet parking, concierge, express check-in and check-out, interactive TV so you can view your bill, chauffeur-driven limousine service and luggage storage.
Hyatt Regency Denver at Colorado Convention
Located in the heart of Downtown, this 1,100 room hotel has a Fedex/Kinkos in the lobby, as well as FastBoard PDA check-in, a car rental desk and E-concierge and it is adjacent to the Colorado Convention center.

This historic hotel in Denver's financial district has excellent front desk and concierge staff. It is 6 blocks from the Colorado Convention Center and has a full service business center, a professional conference manager and complimentary WiFi.
Grand Hyatt Denver
Four blocks from the Convention Center and even closer to the 16th Street Mall, the Grand Hyatt has WiFi, 24-hour Fedex/kinkos business center, FastBoard PDA check-in, valet parking and E-concierge.
Burnsley All-Suite Hotel
For those staying a little longer in Denver, the Burnsley All-Suite Hotel offers affordable extra space with an on-site restaurant. It is 2 miles from the Convention Center and financial district but operates a complimentary shuttle service. Fully equipped boardroom and meeting rooms are available along with high speed internet access and exceptional staff services.
Hotel Monaco
The Hotel Monaco is well located just one block from the 16th St Mall and within easy walking distance of the Conference Center and LoDo. WiFi, yoga equipment and even a goldfish for company are all part of the service here. Voted 'Best Business Hotel' by Travel and Leisure, this Kimpton boutique hotel offers discounted rates and other perks to those in the Global Business Program.
Family Friendly Resorts in Denver
Families often opt for self catering accommodation when they have youngsters in tow, but a family-friendly hotel gives every member of the family a break from the chores - no beds to make, no towels and bedding to launder, and someone to clean the bathroom is a treat we all enjoy from time to time. Denver has some particularly good family-friendly hotels who know just what kids need - milk and cookies, kid friendly games and activities and a special kid's menu. Sounds like heaven to most parents! One Star or Four Star?
Comfort Inn
Lowest on the list but still making a great effort to accommodate all the family is the Comfort Inn in Downtown Denver. The hotel has family-sized rooms and offers a complimentary breakfast with a wide choice on the breakfast buffet. The hotel has a pool and Wireless internet access for laptops. Best of all it is connected to the Brown's Palace Hotel via a skywalk and guests can also make use of the health club, laundry and dining facilities there. With a 'book-mark' TV series that allows you to pause a movie to go for dinner and pick up where they left off, this hotel has some great family pleasers.
Sheraton Four Points
Next up in price is the Four Points Cherry Creek by Sheraton. Close to the Cherry Creek Mall, and attractions such as Coors Field, Invesco Field, Six Flags Elitch Gardens and the Denver Zoo this great family-friendly hotel has a southwest theme which will appeal to kids. Outdoor activities include bicycling, volleyball and basketball - a little competitive family fun before dinner perhaps. With complimentary breakfast, WiFi internet connections and an outdoor pool it is well located for family breaks.
Marriott Denver City Centre
A little more expensive but offering more luxurious rooms and amenities, the Marriott offers some great weekend special rates and packages for families. Choose from the Museum Package which includes tickets to two of Denver's best museums, or for a limited time get 4 free movie tickets when you stay the weekend here. There is an indoor pool and the hotel also offers a babysitting service.
Loews Denver Hotel
This four star hotel pulls out all the stops when welcoming families. Along with luxurious accommodation, kids get frisbees, backpacks and FisherPrice welcome gifts. For babies, the hotel offers electric bottle warmers, bath tubs and invisible outlet plugs. Parents can relax with their choice of pillow from the pillow menu, chenille rugs and CDs. While Dad visits the fitness room, younger family members can enjoy the children's activity center. An on-site restaurant and bar or room service have all the meals covered. The hotel also has a library of games, special children's menus, Kidbanas by the pool and supervised recreational programs. With all this going on it will be hard to leave the hotel and explore Denver!
Pet Friendly Digs in Denver
Denver is a great place to visit with a dog. The City Park has 330 acres of paths, lakes and trails just waiting to be explored. The city is in a beautiful location at the foot of the Rockies, which lend themselves to hiking, biking, ambling, running and fishing and a dog makes a great outdoor companion. But, where to stay? Some hotels tolerate dogs but others specialize in making four-legged guests just as welcome and comfortable as their two-legged masters. It is worth taking time to find a truly pet-friendly hotel. After all, it's your dog's vacation too!
Pet Friendly at a Price!
Many hotel chains welcome dogs and cats, but at a hefty price. While Best Western on South Vance Street is happy to take a pet or two, it does require a $75 deposit against damage and cleaning. The Comfort Inn charges a flat $10 per night per pet in its East 58th Avenue location, and for some reason $50 per night per dog in 17th Street, and that's just for a small dog. Crossland Denver Thornton is not as pet-friendly as you might hope, charging a minimum $25 per day cleaning rising to a maximum $150 per day - that makes it a pretty expensive week's holiday before you get out and explore, eat, drink and put gas in the car.
Better deals can certainly be found at the Crowne Plaza at the airport (one-time $25 fee no matter how long you stay) or the Denver Stapleton Super 8 motel which offers designated pet-friendly rooms without an extra fee. The Microtel Inn on 63rd Avenue has a micro fee too at just $10 flat fee.
Truly Pet-Friendly Hotel Monaco
At the other end of the range is Hotel Monaco in Denver, whose vocation in life seems to be to give pets and their owners a wonderful vacation. The deluxe accommodation for paying guests also includes a pampered pet basket and the use of pet bowls and beds for the duration of the stay - handy if you are flying and have a limited baggage allowance. The hotel also throws in four hours of pet sitting and a goldfish in your room (not advisable for those with kitties!) and there's more. A walking map of local trails gets the morning off to a good start, along with the thoughtfully provided pooper scooper bag. Pets get their name on the welcome board - to break the ice when meeting other furry friends. Best of all the hotel makes no additional charge, requires no extra deposit and there is no size or weight limit to the dog. This is truly an exceptional pet-friendly hotel that goes the extra mile to take care of all their guests.
