Suffering from Rosacea? Here's What I Found That Helps
The skin condition known as rosacea is a redness of the facial skin that shows up on the cheeks, chin, nose, and forehead. I was diagnosed with this condition about seven years ago when I was in my 40s. I tried the prescription creams my dermatologist gave me, but they left my skin feeling very dry and didn't do anything to improve or abait the symptoms of rosacea.
When I was getting my hair cut at the salon one day, the brand new esthetician came by and offered me a free facial; of course I agreed. I had never had a facial before so it was new territory for me. My face was a bit of a mess from the rosacea and dryness of the dermatologist's treatment creams. The esthetician used Dermalogica products on my skin and her knowlege of these products and my skin condition convinced me to give them a try. She sent me home with a small trial kit of the products and I was hooked!
Not only has the rosacea been kept at bay, but my skin has never looked better in my life! The redness has lessened and actually stopped spreading. At 55 years old, I don't have nearly as many wrinkles on my skin as I have seen on other women my age (sorry if that sounds rude, but I couldn't help noticing), and I haven't suffered a single breakout of acne or blackheads since I've been using these products.
If you aren't sure that what you have is rosacea, I highly recommend that you find a dermatologist you trust and get an accurate diagnosis. When I first started using Dermalogica products they were only available from dermatologists and estheticians. Now you can find them in beauty stores and salons where there is a Dermalogica tech.

Dermalogica Ultra Calming Cleanser
My esthetician recommends that I use this product twice in the morning and twice at night. I apply a dime-size amount of cleanser with wet hands to my face with gentle uppward strokes. I remove it with a warm wet wash cloth and repeat.
The reason she recommends I cleanse two times twice each day is to remove all signs of contaminates (air pollution, air-borne contaminants, and cosmetics). Men may not need to cleanse two times twice each day. Please check with an esthetician or dermatologist for specific instructions.

The Soothing Protection Spray is like a toner. It protects your skin from ozone contaminants. It also contains botanicals that will reduce the redness and irritation.

Since I live in a dry climate, I usually use another Dermalogica moisturizer underneath the Barrier Repair. They are shown at the end of this list.

This rice-based exfoliate works like a charm. Because it is rice-based, your skin will love its calming, gentle exfoliation. Mix a teaspoon-sized amount with the Dermalogica Ultra Calming Cleanser on the second cleansing and rinse with warm water.
It is a little grainy, so keep your eyes closed to prevent the granules from getting into your eyes. Your skin will feel softer than you thought possible after this daily exfoliation.

Dermalogica Sheer Tint Redness Relief
I have sampled this product, but will confess that I don't use it regularly. This product is for those who have much more redness in their skin that may not be covered well with just cosmetics. However, it is highly recommended by estheticians for those who need to neutralize the redness in the skin.
Not only does this product neutralize the redness, it protects from inflamation of rosacea. Occasionally I experience pimple-like red spots, so if I used this more religiously, those inflamations may not occur at all.
This product is a green-tinted cream and has SPF15 to protect your face from the sun. Everything I have read about rosacea tells me that UVA and UVB rays are our worst enemy! Ladies and Gentlemen: dawn your hats and protect your skin with a vengeance!

I mix a couple of drops of Gentle Soothing Booster with the Barrier Repair or the moisturizer. I usually don't use this daily, but when I am experiencing inflammation of rosacea, wind burn, or sun burn it really does its job to calm down the inflammation.
Once again, these are botanical-based products that do not contain any artificial fragrance. Please note that these products last quite a while because the amount of product necessary is minuscule.

I use the Multivitamin Power Recovery Masque once each week or once every couple of weeks. It is a powerful antioxidant masque that infuses your skin with vitamins. It also promotes healthy tissue regeneration. My face feels incredibly smooth and silky after I use this. It is also part of the Dermalogica "Age Smart" collection for those of us who are reaching the more mature status!
Apply a quarter-size amount to your fingertips and apply to the cleansed face and neck area (avoid the eye area) and let it stand for 10 - 15 minutes. Rinse it off thoroughly with warm water and pat with a towel to dry. I choose to do this masque after a bath or before I go to bed.

This Super Rich Repair is the strongest, thickest moisturizer in the Dermalogica line. I use it 3-4 nights each week. It's a little too rich and thick for me to use daily, but it can be used under the Barrier Repair both morning and night if you live in extremely cold or dry regions.
It is super-concentrated, so it only takes a small amount (maybe a pea-sized dose) to soothe, replenish, and hydrate the skin. Apply it after cleansing and before the Barrier Repair.

If you are like me and have a hyper-sensitivity to the sun, this is the best sun block I have found anywhere. It isn't greasy like so many over-the-counter products I have tried before. It is chemical free and should be applied to the skin after cleansing and toning (before the moisturizer or Barrier Repair).

There are no fragrances or colors in any of the Dermalogica products. I really love the effect of this moisturizer on my skin - nice and smooth!

Then I repeat the process for both eyes - both under-eye and eye lids. If you have a super magnifying mirror, you can watch the silicones melt into the skin and raise up those tiny lines!
It infuses your skin with vitamins A, C, and E to accelerate your skin's natural repair process and strengthen the elasticity of the skin.
It isn't specifically for rosacea, but if your are male or female and getting tiny lines on your face, you'll love this one!

Locating Dermalogica on the web can be a bit time consuming. This section changes every other day of the week and features Dermalogica items for sale from eBay sellers. I have always had good luck ordering from either Amazon or eBay.

I have been using gloMineral cosmetics as long as I have been using Dermalogica. It is the best make up I have found for rosacea ridden skin because they are made from natural ingredients that do not irritate the skin in any way. You cannot even tell you're wearing makeup if you apply it properly.

- This Dermalogica Skin Care really proved it's worth.I used it and i found it very effective form my skin problems especially rosacea.Very easily usable and quite simple as well.This lens really provides wonderful and useful information regarding Dermalogica Skin Care.Thanks a lot for sharing such an awesome lens
