Recipes for Christmas Gifts in A Jar

5/8 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup white sugar
1/2 cup dried cranberries
1/2 cup white chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped pecans

Layer the ingredients in a 1 quart or 1 liter jar, in the order listed.

Cranberry Hootycreeks

Preheat oven to 350 F. Grease a cookie sheet or line it with parchment paper. In a medium mixing bowl, beat together 1/2 cup softened butter, 1 egg and 1 teaspoon of vanilla until fluffy. Add the entire jar of ingredients, and mix together by hand until well blended. Drop by heaping spoonfuls onto the prepared baking sheet, about 2 inches apart. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until edges are lightly browned. Cool for 2 minutes on baking sheets, then remove to wire racks to cool completely. Makes about 36 tasty treats.

1/2 cup powdered non dairy creamer
1 cup mini chocolate chips
2 Tbsp vanilla powder
1/4 cup sifted powdered sugar
2 cups nonfat dry milk powder
2/3 cup instant coffee crystals
Chocolate Stir Spoons*

Combine nondairy creamer, powdered sugar, powdered vanilla, and milk powder. Layer with coffee and chips into two cup jars. Tap between layers to settle before adding next layer.

GIFT TAG DIRECTIONS:

For each mug, place 1/4 cup of mix in a mug, and add 2/3 cup boiling water. Stir until dissolved.

8 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1/4 cup baking powder
1 tablespoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon ground cloves
1 teaspoon ginger
1 tablespoon cinnamon
2 cups shortening

Sift dry ingredients and cut shortening into it with a pastry blender. Measure 3 cups into 4 jars.

GIFT TAG DIRECTIONS: (this would be especially cute tied with a gingerbread man cookie cutter).

Gingerbread Boys

3 cups gingerbread mix
1/3 cup molasses
1/4 cup flour
1 slightly beaten egg

Combine gingerbread mix, molasses, egg and flour. Blend well. Roll to 1/4 inch thickness on lightly floured surface. Cut into gingerbread shapes. Place on greased cookie sheets. Bake at 350For 10 minutes. Cool. Can be decorated with cinnamon candies. Recipe to be used within 3 months.

2/3 cup instant coffee
1 1/3 cups granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon allspice
Mix thoroughly and put into a blender a couple cups at a time and blend to a fine powder.
GIFT TAG DIRECTIONS
To use, add approximately 2 rounded teaspoons per cup of boiling water.
