Karen Neuburger Pajamas became one of Oprah's Favorite Things!
Things were going very well for the new Karen Neuburger line of sleepwear. After all Karen Neuburger was both a designer and entrepreneur; plus she has a fair bit of business savvy.
But things really sky-rocketed for her when her "boyfriend" pajamas were featured on Oprah's Favorite Things in 1996! Today, when asked what was the "high point" in developing her financial empire, she will say,"That first phone call from Oprah-- and her continuing support."
How did Oprah first hear about Karen Neuburger pajamas? Well, Neuburger sent her a pair-- hoping she would wear them while reading her "Book Club" book. Well, I did mention that she has some business savvy and, besides being a designer, she has a background in merchandising! This combo, plus the support of Oprah Winfrey, has put the Karen Neuburger brand right over the top!

Before designing her own line of apparel, Karen Neuburger worked as a fashion buyer and a merchandise manager. When she had her first child and decided to become a stay at home mom, she couldn't find anything to wear that was both comfortable and stylish-- requirements for her new job. Being a designer, she decided to design her own line of comfortable clothing. The rest is now history!

Soooo, she sent Oprah a pair of her very comfy Boyfriend Pajamas. Her idea was to have Oprah wear a pair of her pajamas while reading one of the books chosen for "Oprah's Book Club!" Clever marketing idea, huh?
But Oprah had an even better idea-- she choose her pajamas to feature on Oprah's Favorite Things back in 1996! The pajamas were an instant success and sales sky-rocketed. Oh, and Oprah later choose Neuburger's new book, The Secret Language of Girlfriends, for her Book Club!
