What Works

Sometimes it seems that you cannot go wrong with leopard print. Maybe it is the reference to the sleek animal. The top actually starts at the back and the fabric wraps around the side and connects in the front and ties in the back. Unlike others, it does not look like the persons getting a wedgie. The Bizarre

Sometimes being a little bizarre can be appealing, but that cannot be said for the Red Carter Slashed One-Piece swimsuit. It is certainly intriguing and it is a head turner. The Slashed began its life as a standard one piece swimsuit. It features one arm strap but that is nothing out of the ordinary. What is is the series of "slashes" or "rips" in the fabric. They designers may have been going for something naughty, but the end result was something that looks like a wild carnivore got a hold of. It makes you want to ask "Did she survive?" not "Where can I get one of those??"; not a good thing in the fashion industry.

Better On The Drawing Board?

Browsing this season's swimwear from Betsey Johnson, one can see many intriguing designs. For example there is, in the category of Little Black Swimsuits, the Topless Bikini. The very idea that they would tout it as topless, as if going topless is a new idea, is enough to make one smile. It may seem like a joke, but it is not. If it was a cute design, they may have been able to pull it off, but sadly, they did not. It starts out with a cute bottom and features a section of fabric in the front that tapers to two cords that tie off around the neck. Section of fabric is wide at the bottom, lending the impression the person is getting a rather severe wedgie. Not something that is sexy or cute. Adding to it all, is that this "topless bikini" features a removable bandeau top.

This does not seem at all bad, as the Leopard -print Wrap bikini worked. In fact the majority of Betsey Johnsons designer bathing suit offerings this year are a wonderful and cute, such as the Leopard Print Gold Ring Bandeau Top bikini swimwear featuring delightful lower rise bottom. It is simple and very cute. The Sequin Sliding Triangle Top featuring a choice of beige or black square sequins is another hit. The problems that this year the misses are dramatic and stand out.
