Vera Bradley Designs, Inc. is an American design company best known for its soft, brightly patterned bags. The Fort Wayne company produces many products, including quilted cotton luggage, handbags and accessories which can be found at one of the 3,500 retailers or the stand alone Vera Bradley stores.

The company was founded in March 1982 by Patricia Miller and Barbara Bradley Baekgaard, a 1962 graduate of Marymount College. Named after Baekgaard's mother, the company got its start when both were inspired while awaiting a flight in Atlanta, where they noticed a "definite lack of feminine-looking luggage".

Other bag companies have started to copy Crumpler bags most notably Bag-Man which copied the Crumpler bag designs, sewing and material used, different colours and adding their own plastic logo to the bag and to the Quick Flip buckle. EPE: Explore Planet Earth have also copied Crumplers line of messenger bags. Other companies have also added the Quick Flick buckle to their messenger bags. The Quick Flick buckle is a cam-buckle now widely used by many bag companies. Another copy of crumpler bags is checkerplate.
