Dessert Pannini's

A Panini is a typical Italian fast-food snack. A hot Panini is the perfect base for a breakfast snack, brunch, lunch, merienda, afternoon tea or dessert. Normally a Panini is made from two slices of your favourite bread then drizzle with olive oil, add your favourite meats and a little cheese to give the whole hot toasted snack a melting texture.

All of those things can be achieved by dessert Panini. The soft gooey texture of cheese can be added by soaking your favourite bread in egg and then frying in your Panini maker. Just as with a savoury Panini any bread can be used, the possibilities for a sweet Panini are endless. Dessert Panini's can be made with brioche, panettone, croissants, banana bread, raisin bread, date bread or any other sweet bread that comes to hand.

Cream, yoghurt, mascarpone cheese can be added to make them moist. Flavourings such as nutella, caramel, strawberry syrup are perfect, throw in some crushed banana, peaches, nectarines as well as whole raspberries and strawberries and you have the perfect dessert Panini.

"Not only does it make my favorite toasted sandwich (cheese and pineapple) we use it in our household for many other favorite recipes.

First off with the design. The flat plates make this gadget handy for alot more than toasted sandwiches.

We use it almost like a frying pan but with way less fat. We cook eggs (fried or omelet style), make pancakes or pikelets, cook sausages, bacon, chicken, beef, pork, chops, patties and even fish. We also cook vegetables like carrots, courgettes, beans, asparagus whatever you like. Just about whatever you cook in a frying pan can be done in this sandwich maker. The sky is the limit on ideas for recipes here.

It is a nice size to make a meal for yourself as you can put everything on it at once if you wish or can be used to cook bigger meals for your family.
There is a hot plate on the bottom and on the lid so heat is distributed quite evenly and cooking some foods is quite quick and it browns the food as well. And when you are done and have allowed the sandwich maker to cool, you just simply clean up with a paper towel or damp cloth as the plates are non stick. This gadget is so easy to use you will be glad you bought it. It is one of our most used gadgets in our kitchen.

I highly recommend it to others",

"this has been a roaring success in our househol of five (four men). It is in use every day with minimal cleaning involved and enough space for three ciabattas or paninis. I love it. Very good value"

The features I like about this grill are a single grease collection area - whereas other grills sometimes drain grease from the outer corners of the grill, this one drains grease from the inside center of the grill into a drain plate underneath the grill. Having a central draining area makes the grill easier to clean. The plate underneath is made of plastic, and cleans up easily. Another feature I like, but my husband isn't sure about is that this grill has only one heat control. I like having 1 control - I know if the grill is on, and what it's set on. The other grill had 3 controls - 1 for temperature (200-425 degrees)- which was called the "griddle", the central control called "selector" which chooses between the griddle, or grill/panini, and then the control on the right hand side called "Grill/Panini" and the controls are warm, low, med, high, and sear. I never knew if the grill was on until it got hot. There was no indicator light or anything else to indicate the grill was on and heating. My husband preferred the grill with 3 controls because he felt it gave him more control over the heat. I don't agree. Even though there were 3 controls, the only one that really mattered was the Griddle control - which actually set the temperature of the grill/griddle.

What Are Your Favorite Panini Recipes?

Chocolate-Raspberry Panini with Mascarpone
This was FANTASTIC! I used fresh raspberries that had *just* been picked, good quality chocolate, and a nice french bread from a local bakery. The bread came out beautifully crisp and caramelized, and the inside was rich, gooey, and delicious. My guests RAVED about it and wouldn't leave without the recipe.
Nutella and Strawberry Panini
I grew up with Nutella and I have eaten it in many forms, so I was not terrible convinced that this was going to make a difference in a panini machine, I was so wrong! This was wonderful, used sourdough bread and will try the suggestion of sliced strawberries with it

Croque-Madame
A croque-madame is a variation on the croque-monsieur, a French twist on grilled ham and cheese. Instead of dipping the sandwich in egg before sautéeing in butter (as you would for a croque-monsieur), grill the sandwich first and top with homemade Mornay Sauce, cheese, and sunny-side up egg.
Mediterranean Tuna Panini
Tuna, tomatoes, feta, marinated artichoke hearts, black olives and capers all wrapped up in toasted wholemeal bread, what not to like.
Caramelized Onion, Chicken, and Fontina Panini
Chicken and cheese wonderful panini combo
