Chocolate Makes the World Go 'Round!
Why Do Desserts Taste So Much Better at Restaurants??
Ever been to Starbucks and had their fudge squares with mocha glaze? Oh, they are to die for! Oh, and how about the chocolate cake with fudge sauce at Macaroni Grill?? Delicious! Oh, or the chocolate chip Paradise Pie at Chili's??? Awesome!
As you can tell, I eat out a lot. In the past, I would sit there and savor each bite and also try and analyze how I could make the exact same thing at home. Sadly, it never turned out quite the same way the food tasted in these wonderful restaurants. That is, until I found this recipe website that shares the secret recipes of MANY popular restaurants!
But beware!
Simply reading these recipes WILL make you hungry!
My Favorite Chocolate Dessert - BROWNIES!
Guilt-Free Chocolate Brownie Recipe
I have an extreme weakness for gooey chocolate brownies.Don't cut me a piece..hand me the whole pan! Out of all the chocolate dessert recipes in my possession, brownies are by far my favorite!
I found a healthy chocolate recipe alternative for my standard "lifetime on the hips" brownie recipe.
This chocolate recipe requires about 40 minutes to bake and approx. 10 minutes of prep time.
Guilt-Free Chocolate Brownies
3 eggs
2 cups brown sugar
1 cup plain yogurt (do NOT use low-fat)
1 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Whisk together the yogurt and sugar. Whisk til sugar is slightly dissolved.
3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing completely.
4. Stir in the vanilla.
5. Sift together the cocoa powder, flour and salt.
6. Add half the dry mix to the wet mix and fold in with a wooden spoon then fold in the rest. Do not over mix!
7. Bake in a 9x9 non-stick pan for 30-40 minutes. The "toothpick test" should result with some moist crumbs sticking to it, not be totally dry when the brownies are done.
8. Cool.

I too am a chocolate lover but I am also a type 2 diabetic. Hence I'm limited on my chocolate eating. I just had to try the brownie recipe so all I had to do was use Splenda brown sugar and they were sooo good. I would like permission to use your recipe on my Diabetic Recipes blog. Link to your lens will be included. Posted April 17, 2008 |
