The Adventure Of A Lifetime

Kenya has long been one of the places I really wanted go. It has so many sites to see and exploring the white, sandy beaches is surely a tropical paradise; not to mention its rich colonial history. I always wanted to go there with my husband. He is also an adventurer like me. We love to travel to new places and discover the world around us.

The capital city of Nairobi has a lot of history of its own. But now that we have experienced the wonderful magic of Kenya, I recommend that everyone should enjoy this amazing experience at least once. It's quite easy to get to Nairobi from anywhere in Europe and Asia. We landed directly at the international airport and after the quick immigration process were ready to explore Kenya. There are many hotels in a wide range of prices in Nairobi. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Nairobi which was quite convenient.

Kenyan coffee is one the world's most-loved and is even available at Starbucks.

Nairobi - The Place To Be In Africa

I'm sure everyone knows about Karen Blixen, the world famous Danish author who lived in Kenya. Her book, Out of Africa, was one of the reasons I was inspired to visit Kenya. In fact, the very first day I went to the Karen Blixen Museum, which was close to Nairobi in a suburb now named after the Danish author. It took no time to arrange for transportation to the museum and back from my Nairobi Hotels. She was a truly remarkable woman and it's a must-see place for everyone.

There are many wonderful places to see in Nairobi and I checked things out at my own pace. The first place I visited was the awesome Giraffe Center, located just a few miles from the middle of the city. As someone who loves animals, this was a real treat. My husband loved it as well. You're allowed to go around the park and feed the giraffes, which was quite an experience. You will see many tourists flocking to the Center and it might be a little crowded.

I was able to touch and feed the giraffes, which was quite unforgettable. Back at Holiday Inn Nairobi, which was also a quite an experience due to good service and great food, it was important to rest a bit before going out again. I always say do things at your own pace to truly enjoy them. The main attraction of the city is the world-famous Nairobi National Park.

It's in the southern part of Nairobi and is a huge park, over 100 miles in size. The park has beautiful, open savannah land which makes the Nairobi skyline a perfect backdrop. Apart from the park, Nairobi is a cosmopolitan city with some good shopping malls and great places to eat.

In 1978, reggae legend Bob Marley visited Kenya, his first African country.

Kenya - The Magic Of Africa

Kenya is very diverse. But in its heart are a peace-loving people who are very welcoming to foreigners. Liberal in nature is what I really like about Kenya. The other thing I enjoy about it is the opportunity to buy traditional things. For example, the handicrafts which represent an ethnic community are quite beautiful and reasonable.

The largest collection of crafts can be found in the markets, but I was able to get some from the hotel shops. I'm sure there are many such shops in most Nairobi Hotels. One of the most beautiful places you'll ever see is Lake Victoria. Its romantic sunsets and natural beauty make it a place I want to be with my husband.

Lake Victoria trips can be easily arranged by the travel desk at the Holiday Inn Nairobi. Lake Victoria is the source of the legendary African river, the Nile. The lake is shared among three countries: Tanzania, Uganda, and Kenya. On the Kenyan side we went to a laidback, relaxed town called Kisumu.

My husband and I stayed at a wonderful hotel overlooking the lake and enjoyed the sunset immensely. I also learned that current U.S. President Barack Obama's father was born in a small village close to the town.

We also explored the amazing coastline in a place called Malindi Bay. I was fascinated by the glass-bottom boat ride where we were able to check out the underwater world of fish and corals. It's truly a breathtaking sight.

The Kenya-travel-packages.com site is easily the best online guide to Kenya. The website provides complete and detailed information about the best places to see in Kenya. Whether it's information on the beaches or reviews of Nairobi Hotels, you will find everything you're looking for.
