Detox Baths

A common recipe for a detox bath calls for one cup of sea salts, two cups of baking soda and one cup of Epsom salts. You should mix these ingredients together, and then add about ¼ cup of the mix to your bath as it is filling. The rest of the mix can be stored in a glass jar with a screw-on lid. For those with extremely dry skin, you can add a couple of tablespoonsful of glycerin to the water to help soften your skin.

According to Naturopath Dr. Hazel Parcells, the hot water of the bath and added salts work together to draw toxins out of the body. While the hot water draws the poisons to the skin's surface, the Epsom salts make you sweat, which helps the body to rid itself of the toxins. The sea salts also help the body to cleanse and purify itself of unwanted poisons.
