Body Cleanse - Look And Feel Great

There is a lot of information in the media about the benefits of a full body cleanse to clear your body of harmful toxins. All this information can be really overwhelming, especially if you want to try it for the first time. What is the best method? What can you expect? What do you need to get started? Do you have to do anything to prepare? For every question you have there are thousands of answers.
In reality, a body cleanse is simple. This is because your body cleanses itself naturally! It is a constant process within us. So forget the equipment and pills and hype. No need to do fasting. All you need to do is learn how to help your body be more efficient at what it is already doing.

The first step to accomplishing this is to understand where the toxins are coming from! We get toxins built up from outside sources, like chemicals in our food and water, particulates in the air, and other toxic substances we come into contact with. Toxins can also build up inside our bodies. This happens when our organs cannot rid us of the toxins as fast as they are being introduced.

When these toxins build up, they can be very dangerous. They can lead to all sorts of chronic medical problems, from everything to fatigue to serious heart problems. This is why it is actually important to do a body cleanse. If you can, you should actually try to make it part of your lifestyle rather than an occasional event.

Essentially, all you need to do is keep the demands on your digestive organs to a minimum. You can do this by eating easy-to-digest foods that are high in water content (such as fruits and vegetables). Proteins such as dairy, meat, seafood, beans, nuts and eggs take more work for the body to digest, which means they create a more demand on your organs. More demand on your organs means they have less time to eliminate those toxins from your system. Fats also are difficult to digest. So you should stock up on your favorite fruits and veggies. You can eat as much as you like, just remember that overeating can slow down your ability to flush toxins.

The other thing you should do to help your body cleanse detox is to drink a lot of water. Filtered tap water is just fine. Most filters are efficient at screening out toxins in the water. If plain water is difficult for you to drink, try hot or iced tea. Add citrus juice (fresh squeezed) instead of sugar, and try to drink only decaffeinated tea. The water will help your system flush the toxins as well as make sure your organs are properly hydrated so they can work the way they are supposed to.

Technically, for an effective cleansing, you should avoid stimulants like nicotine, caffeine and alcohol. If you plan to do this, make sure to give yourself a week or so to taper off. Most people, however, cannot commit to eliminating one or more of these items. Do what you can. But even if you stick to the fruit and veggie (think vegan) diet and keep your cigarettes, coffee, and alcohol, you will reap substantial detox benefits. Do not stop taking prescribed medications.

It really is that easy. Get rest, drink water, and give your body a break with easy-to-digest foods as often as possible. If you plan to do this for more than a week or two, make sure to research a vegan diet to see how to get adequate protein to maintain your muscle mass and overall health. If you are pregnant or if you have a serious health problem, check with your doctor before you begin. It might not be the most fun you ever had, and you will probably spend more time in the bathroom, but focus on the long-term benefits. Your body will thank you for the body cleanse.
