I have a question, how many sites do you have through DevHub? I was just wondering if your earnings were for 1 site or many. Thanks!
  • Rajays Feb 26, 2012 @ 12:06 am | delete
For the earnings I made above (Dec 2010) I had about 14 sites. Nowadays I don't build anymore DevHub sites as I have other projects that take all my time - so my earnings have also fallen down accordingly. A quick way to make money with DevHub is to refer lots of members - you make money constantly on all their earnings.

Thanks for sharing this~ I found about this site not too long ago and I think I will give it a try :)
  • PattiHale Nov 14, 2011 @ 2:38 pm | delete
Thanks for all your help and patience. Thing is--I want it all--for free, lol! . which isn't going to happen. I am testing this niche out with the free site before I put any money into it but if it is successful, I want to know what my strategy would be.
  • PattiHale Nov 14, 2011 @ 11:26 am | delete
Another question--I see how you get your own modules to put your own ad sense and affiliate ids. How many do you get? Also, you get up to 10 free or do you have to pay for the 2nd? Sorry to ask so many questions, lol.
  • Rajays Nov 15, 2011 @ 12:42 am | delete
You get to put unlimited widget modules to add per site. In the module you can add your own affiliate code and Google adsense and optin form and so on.

I have been a member for long time and I don't think the 10 site limit applies to me. I can create as many sites as I like. I think they will give you the first 10 to begin with and if you have been active and are using their money making modules where they also make money then I think you should be able to request more stores for free.
  • PattiHale Nov 14, 2011 @ 9:50 am | delete
I do own my content though, right? So if I chose to go to another platform, say Wordpress, I could do that? Just wondering what the downside would be. I want to be able to make all the money from the website, eventually, but don't really want to go self hosting until my website gets some momentum. Also, don't know if I will be limited and not be able to add opt ins for emails, ebooks, etc. Thanks for your help on this.
  • Rajays Nov 14, 2011 @ 10:03 am | delete
Yes you do own your own content. I don't however advice you to move platforms. Pick one and stick with it. Because once you build your site and start getting traffic, the search engines would have indexed your site and also your tags and url and file extensions and so on and if you later move platforms, all your url's to your webpages will more than likely be different than it is. That is no good and will surely hurt your search engine ranking for the site.

If your site is going to be hosting files for downloads and needs specialized software and scripts installed then I would recommend you to use self-hosting - you will have much more flexibility and disk-space to host your ebooks and files.

If you are looking to build small niche sites, squeeze pages, information sites and so on that do not need additional hosting, ftp access, specialized scripts and so on then DevHub is a quick and powerful solution.

I am building a website on DevHub right now (sorry I didn't see your lens until after I had already registered. I have bought my own domain name through DevHub. IDo you know if I decide to change hosts will i be able to take my website with me?
  • Rajays Nov 14, 2011 @ 3:52 am | delete
    Hi Pattie,

I don't think you can move your website to a new host if you decide to migrate out of DevHub.

DevHub looks like something I can try as I branch out from Squidoo. Many thanks for the info.
  • MiaBellezza Apr 4, 2011 @ 12:30 pm | delete
Looks like an interesting site and I might even check it out!
  • SereneSea Mar 9, 2011 @ 1:53 am | delete
    Dear Rajays,
How many websites you have currently in DevHub? It sounds me like Squidoo, if it is free. Websites really take up a lot of time in promoting, I have 2 websites which are not paying off.
  • Rajays Mar 9, 2011 @ 12:27 pm | delete
I currently have 14 sites on devhubs. It is free to create sites on devhubs. It is a bit like squidoo and also a lot different - different modules, community and so on. Personally, I prefer squidoo anyday but I find devhub an alternative venue for creating free websites to promote my affiliate products.

This is also a two-tier program and you make money from your referrals efforts. I make most of my money on devhub due to my referrals work.

How do they make money if everything is free? It's a very interesting idea i need to make a easy to build money making website
  • timsoulo Nov 17, 2010 @ 4:25 am | delete
wow! I did see devhub before and consider it to be an awesome platform, but didn't notice it has any monetization options :)
  • SereneSea Nov 8, 2010 @ 7:42 am | delete
Are your websites ranking high with DevHub? I believe this website must be in for a good traffic too.
  • Rajays Nov 8, 2010 @ 11:23 pm | delete
I get several visitors to my devhub sites but they are not currently ranked in the first 3 pages of Google. It is all about promoting your sites and building backlinks which I have only started doing for my hubs.

    ...but its difficult to navigate!

    Very informative lens.
Making a website is really not that tough, and top of all, you can create a website or more website for free.
Building a website is a extremely individual skill and is different with each client.
It is more about revealing your business to new probable clients and generating new sales.
  • ElizabethJeanAllen Mar 7, 2010 @ 6:04 am | delete
I have 221 Squidoo lenses and will build more, but I'm looking for another venue to expand into. I've considered hubpages and will do that eventually, but I'm going to check out Devhub.
    Thanks

devhub is pretty interesting. I have three sites (all with the devhub domain). One thing I've found, however, is that the eBay Partner Network tool validator does not show anything (not even an error) when I try to validate my tools on the devhub sites. This is weird - I've never seen this before. And since the tool validator works with my squidoo lenses, it doesn't seem to be a problem caused by my not self-hosting. Anyone have any ideas?
  • AndyPo Apr 22, 2009 @ 1:35 pm | delete
    Excellent information
  • kiwisoutback Apr 19, 2009 @ 1:18 pm | delete
Devhub sounds interesting. I've got my hands full right now with Squidoo (and a little of hubpages), but this sounds like a great up and comer. I'll have to check it out! I'm going to feature this on my free websites lens.
