My mother's favorite pieces to play on her piano accordian were always old dance tunes. In the 1970s, she and I bought a book called "1000 Fiddle Tunes". She played them on accordian. I played them on piano. I now play them on guitar.
After signing up to WholeNote (which is for guitarists), I was encouraged to transcribe some of the tunes so they could be played by guitarists. I put up 27 lessons in about 2003. There are now more than 100,000 hits on those 27 lessons! (A big warm thank you to those visitors!)
As a result, I decided it was time to upgrade the information I had on the pieces. With Squidoo so perfect for putting up lists of information and making web contacts, this was the best place to put the information such as history sources and other people's take on the pieces.
I'm know I haven't all the information there is, and I will put up more later.
