Spring Is On The Way
Spring is on the way. Now is the time to start thinking about getting your Lawn and Garden equipment ready to go. Your plan should be to have everything ready for action before you need it. It may seem like a long time ago when you last used that mower but try to think back to then. Were there any problems that you just limped along on that last mowing? Now is the time to address them. If you find that getting your machine into shape is not worth it. You can get in on some pretty good pre season deals for something new if you start early.

Mower Check list

Condition of drive system (Including belts, pulleys and transmission)
Condition of wheels and tires (Also make sure wheel height adjusters work)
Condition cables and controls
Condition of catcher bag if you use one
Condition of handle bars and brackets

* You will want to check these items first because they can add up to a lot of money if they all need repairs and a new machine might be your best choice. A lot of times you can bring your mower back up to shape with used or reconditioned parts for these repairs and save a good chunk of money. *If these items all check out ok you can now think about servicing your mower for the season

Service Check List

Air Filter
Spark Plug
Oil Change
Starter Rope Condition
Lube as needed
And most important Fresh Fuel (Do not try to use fuel left over from last year it will only cause you problems)
If you left old fuel in you mower last year you may need to clean out the carburetor

After you service your mower start it up and let it run for a while. Test all the functions like drive, blade clutch if present and operation of all controls. If all checks out good you should be ready for the grass to grow.
