Standard Lambhi Chaal (Longer Chaal)

Let's see how to play the lambhi chaal on the dhol...

The basic lambhi chaal beat goes a little something like this...

DHA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA

NA NA NA NA NA DHA DHA NA

As you can see in the above lambhi chaal the standard chaal is an extension of the short chaal into 16 beats as opposed to 8 beats.

The compilation which includes a thora is as follows...

DHA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA

NA NA NA NA NA DHA DHA NA

DHA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA

NA NA NA NA NA DHA DHA NA

DHA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA

NA NA NA NA NA DHA DHA NA

DHA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA

NA NA * DHA NA DHA NA DHA

As you can see this compilation appears very large, but just to break it down for you, it is essentially 3 cycles of lambhi chaal (from bar 1 to 48) then from bar 48 - 56 you have half a cycle of lambhi chaal followed by a thora (bar 60 - 64).

Hope this lens has been of benefit to you. Please link through your facebook or other social media and feel free to ask any questions.
