Definition of diabetes
Diabetes Mellitus
Diabetes mellitus ( or ; or )?often referred to simply as diabetes?is a condition in which the body either does not produce enough, or does not properly respond to, insulin, a hormone produced in the pancreas. Insulin enables cells to absorb glucose in order to turn it into energy. In diabetes, the body either fails to properly respond to its own insulin, does not make enough insulin, or both...
About Diabetes
What is diabetes all about
Around 26 million people in the United States have diagnosed diabetes, that is an amazing number, but the numbers may be considerably higher as so many people do not seek medical advice, or may be in the pre diabetes stage. It is important to see a doctor if you feel that something is not right about your body.
Native Americans, Asian Americans, African Americans, Latinos, and Pacific Islanders are more susceptible to getting diabetes.
A common myth about diabetes is that eating too much sugar can cause it. It really comes down to genetics, lifestyle, weight and activity levels. Being overweight increases your chances of forming diabetes and whilst sugar causes weight gain, it is not directly responsible for diabetes.
Diabetes is certainly not something you should become depressed about. It sometimes is a shock when you first find out but with the right information and correct care you can learn to live with this condition. You are certainly not alone and there is always support out there for you.
Some great vitamins and supplements are available to help diabetes and what they do is support the body's nutritional needs and should be used as part of your diet to help maintain a healthy blood sugar level. Amazon have a great one called Diabetic Nutritional Pack - Vitamins and Minerals
AND THEY WILL WORK for you.

Pre-diabetes
Type 1 Diabetes
This condition occurs when the body can not produce insulin. Insulin helps the body to use and store blood glucose properly. The glucose comes from the food that you eat. Insulin is a hormone that is made from beta cells in the pancreas but diabetes 1 sufferers are unable to make this insulin in the pancreas.
Type 2 Diabetes
This is the more common type of diabetes and occurs when the body can not properly use the insulin and when there is a deficiency in insulin. Unlike in Type 1 diabetes, people with type 2 diabetes can still make insulin but the body does not use it properly.
Pre diabetes
This is the stage before a confirmed diabetes diagnosis. It is characterized by the person has a higher then normal blood glucose level, but when it is not high enough to be called diabetes.

You should also consume a couple of servings of lean meat a week as well as fish. Take a Diabetic Nutritional Pack - Glucose Support Formula, Vitamins and Minerals, Calcium Magnesium to lower blood sugar
Physical Activity
If you can walk for 30 minutes per day this will improve your overall health, your energy levels and help you to control your weight. Walk somewhere you feel at peace like on the beach or a nature path. This will help you to walk to walk more.
Support
Join a diabetes support group. People just like you are in these groups and can relate with what they are going through and can assist you in your quest for a regular life.
