Thirst is one of the common diabetes early signs. The extra glucose present in the blood absorbs the moisture in the cells triggering dehydration symptoms in the body. The brain gets the thirst signal and you feel thirsty and drink water. The result is frequent urination because although you are drinking more water it is not absorbed by the cells in your body. The extra glucose present in your blood moves the excess water through the blood stream to your kidneys and and your bladder gets full frequently.
Another one of the common diabetes early signs is fatigue. Because of shortage of insulin in your blood the glucose cannot be broken down properly and your cells, especially the muscle cells, don't get adequate energy for their needs. This and the frequent necessity to go to the bathroom that disturbs your sleep lead to fatigue.
Other Diabetes Early Signs
The diabetes early signs associated with vision are few in case of diabetic retinopathy. Therefore it is very important to get a dilated eye examination done every year so that diabetic retinopathy can be detected early. The earliest signs of diabetic retinopathy are seen when there are structural changes in the cappilaries which impede the supply of oxygen and nutrients to the retina. Due to the short supply of oxygen and nutrients to the tissues there is damage to the retina.
