Effects of Sweets on Blood Sugar Levels
Should a diabetic, watching their blood sugar level, stop eating sweets? Absolutly NOT. You still can but you must be willing to practice moderation.
For most people, It's perfectly normal for the blood sugar levels to go up after they eat. For a diabetic, it's the same but one must be aware of how high their blood sugar level will rise to. Numbers that climb above 180 mg are considered high. If the blood sugar level is or drops below 65 mg, then it's too low, and one will need to snack on something sweet or high in carbs to help bring it back up.

Be in Full Control of your Blood Sugar Levels
As a diabetic, you must be in full control of your diet plan every day to manage this disease and you must be strategic about how you balance your meals, by eating the right portions of protein, carbohydrates, fruit and veggies. The more consistent your diet is, the steadier your blood sugar will be and the healthier you will be. Eating high-sugar foods on a regular basis is a great way to mess up your daily menu plan. If you eat a big slice of cheese cake, how will it fit in with the rest of your calories and carbs intake for that day?
The Reward?
Taking control of your diabetes can help you feel better and stay healthy. Research shows that keeping your blood glucose (blood sugar) close to normal reduces your chances of having eye, kidney, and nerve problems.

Scientists concluded that meals or snacks with sugar in them dont make your blood sugar rise higher than any other meals with the same amount of carbohydrates, such as rice and pasta. But, if the meals or snack contains more carbs, the blood sugar level will rise.
