How To Recognize Diabetes Symptoms

I have created this lens to help people get a better understanding of Diabetes.

Diabetes is something that you can develop slowly without you realizing it and many are not aware that they have Diabetes symptoms.

It is a condition where people have to much glucose in their blood, and therefore need to increase their intake of insulin because their insulin doesn't work properly.

By having a blood test done at your doctor it can be verified if you are Diabetes.

Some of the symptoms of Diabetes is feeling more tired that you usually do. Also being thirsty, passing urine more often, blurred vision, and taking longer for sores to heal.

If you are Diabetes you need to change glucose from food into energy for your body to work. A hormone called insulin is essential for conversion of glucose into energy.

Diabetes Symptoms

The early Diabetes Symptoms of untreated diabetes are related to high blood sugar levels, and loss of glucose in the urine. High amounts of glucose in the urine can cause increased urine output and lead to dehydration.

Dehydration is a common Diabetes Symptoms and causes a person to be thirsty and needing to drink lots of water.

Some common Diabetes Symptoms of both major types of diabetes is fatigue which may be due to the body being unable to use glucose for fuel.

The body then change to other ways of getting fuel as a source which cause the body to use more energy and as a result of this the person feels fatigued and very tired.

Unexplained Weight Loss is another Diabetes Symptoms and that is because people with Diabetes are not able to get the right amount of calories in the food they eat.

Losing sugar and water in the urine and the dehydration also add to weight loss.

Diabetes Symptoms can also be followed by excessive thirst. People with Diabetes develop high blood sugar levels, which can overpower the kidney's abilities to cope and filter the urine.

Thx for this informative lens, Jo. And thanks for checking out my Crocs lens. I don't have diabetes, but my mother developed it in her mid-80's and had . When she was 90, Toes on both legs were red and slightly ulcerated. When she was 91, a surgeon put a stent in one leg to combat severe leg pain, but due to complications she was admitted to a nursing home two wks later. Two weeks after op, she was in severe pain again, the stented leg was swollen to the knee and the surgeon wanted to AMPUTATE toes and talked about taking off her foot. At that point, I took her to an ACUPUNCTURIST. After 6 mos of acupuncture, both legs & feet were completely normal and she was RUNNING around the nursing home. Died at 95 with all her toes.
